Horsey Wrap!!
This is a delicious way to enjoy a "sandwich" type meal without any of the guilt! I wouldn't recommend this for new post-ops, but grads 6+ months out should be able to tolerate this well. Halves nicely to share or save for later and the cabbage stays nice and crispy even with the sauce. And the horseradish sauce ...need I say more? This treat packs a protein and fiber punch and really satisfies!
Ingredients:
1 8" Lo-Carb Whole Wheat Flour Tortilla (LaBanderita has 81 cals, 2g fat, 11g carbs, 6g fiber, 5g protein and is NOT refrigerated)
2 thin slices 96% FF Roast Beef (about 100 cals)
1/4 to 1/2 c. shredded cabbage (bagged coleslaw works for me and has like 3 cals)
2-3 tsp Boar's Head brand Horseradish sauce (or your fave, this brand has 15 cals and 1g carb/tsp)
Directions:
Spread about 1 tsp horseradish sauce in middle of tortilla. Place roast beef on top, then add shredded cabbage. Top off with the rest of the sauce, roll and enjoy!!!
Hey! Yes yu may be able to...
I'm in England---at RAF Lakenheath. If you go to the commissary---in the refridgerated bread section--where the refridgerated tortillas are---they are carrying a new product here..I think they're called Toufayan Wraps they are lowfat and low carb. They have 140 calories, 3 grams of fat, and something like 13 or 15 grams of protein! Even if you're on an army base---I think they'll either have them, or be able to order them for you.
Best of luck!!
