Hi there, I just made this last week and it was great for me as is, and my husband used it to make burritos. In the crockpot I put one large chopped onion in, then threw in some boneless, skinless chicken breast tenders and thighs. Over the top of that, I seasoned them with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and then poured a whole bottle of salsa over all of it. You can use your friends salsa instead. Cook on low for 8-9 hours, then shred chicken and serve. It was very yummy. Susan

You can also use salsa to marinate chicken. Just marinate and grill!

I use salsa for everything. On my eggs, in chili (with a little 1/2 tsp of cloves..it's a very unique taste I got from some friends), turkey burgers, etc. It's very versatile and local for flavor.

Hi, this is a very old Mexican recipe but with Ground Turkey instead of Ground beef. About a pound of ground turkey with 1/2 onion sauted, add 1 big can of chopped tomato add about 1 cup of your salsa - more or less to your taste. salt, garlic powder and little bit of pepper Let is all simmer for about 15 minutes That's it, enjoy! Let me know if you make it.

Hi Rebecca, I make some really good soup that has salsa in it. 1 can chicken broth 1 can corn 1 can black beans 1 can refried beans ( I use fat free) 1 jar salsa (approx. 16 oz.) 9 oz. can of chicken (I use leftover chicken breast) I serve it with a little sour cream and cheese. Very good. Lynn

I eat salsa on my eggs too. I put in some diced roasted chilis (they come in tiny to small cans.. the green mild ones), some thinly sliced pickled jalapeno, sliced black olive, and a little finely grated jack cheese and a little salt and pepper. I like the divided tupperware so I can open all these cans and only use a tiny amount (one, MAYBE 2 eggss... but I usually can't do 2 eggs) of all these ingredients. Most of these last a while. Also, ground turkey/tofu combo warmed with a little black beans and laid over a bed of shredded lettuce (and cabbage too sometimes), sliced avocado, thin sliced red onion, sliced black olives, pickled jalapeno, small amount of corn, and some nonfat sour cream with salsa makes a great taco salad. I also usually shake some mild chili (like pablano) powder and lime juice over it. I do the chili and lime thing on practically everything though. Brown rice (seasoned with chili powder, finely chopped cilantro, and lime), black beans, a little diced seasoned (chili lime) chicken breast, small amount of shredded jack cheese warmed up and topped with non/low fat sour cream and salsa is good too... just in a small bowl. You can eat it with Trader Joe's veggie flax chips too. That's what we had last night... so good! Salsa is also good on cottage cheese. Good luck
