I went to the chinese restaurant the other day and they had a cabbage and shrimp dish. I loved it. I came home and made it. Now I'm really enjoying cabbage. Can anyone suggest a recipe that has protien in it? Thanks a bunch, Kathleen

HI..how about cabbage rolls? Fix up some ground beef like you would for a meatloaf. Roll up in to cabbage leaves. Put in pan and pour a can or two of tomatos over it. Seanson as you like. Bake at 350 for about 45 min. Also you can make a stir fry with cabbage and any kind of meat you like...chicken strips or steak strips. you can add any other vegies you like as well. I also use cabbage in most of my soups. Vegie soup is the bomb!! Mary

I have a Mock-Hamburger Helper recipe that I've used for years... I love it... I found it during my low carbing years... but it is still a great WLS recipe... I just play it by ear now, so I will do my best to share it with you... 1 # lean Ground beef 1/4 c. onion, chopped 1 bag Angel Hair shredded Cabbage (or you can shred it yourself) 1 can Rotel tomatoes (Mexican diced tomatoes with chilies, I buy Walmart's) 4-6+ ounces of Deluxe American Cheese slices (not individuly wrapped, but sliced. I use Kraft or Walmart brand) In a large skillet, brown onion and beef. Drain. Add cabbage and tomatoes to the pan, cover & simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally until cabbage is tender. Turn the heat to medium-low, add the slices of cheese individually over the cabbage mixture in a single layer, overlaping a little (I use about 8-9 slices). Cover for a minute or two to allow the cheese to melt. Stir the cheese into the cabbage and hamburger mixture... and it's done... I hope you enjoy this recipe... it is really good and it made it easier for me to eat hamburger after WLS... Enjoy! Angela
