I just read someone else's post... and they mentioned that they were looking for bean recipes that didn't cost that much. I replied back to her, and realized that I wanted to post this here to see what kind of responses I got. If you haven't already discovered... eating healthier costs MORE. Wayy more. We all eat "like birds" now, but you can buy things in "bird size" proportions... so you still buy as much as you would if you ate like you used to... Ever notice that "reduced fat" or "sugar free" items cost at minimum $1.00 more??? ANYWAY... I have the lapband... so no cheapy pasta recipes or rice recipes for me anymore I need recipes that are inexpensive, full of protein & vegetables & "kid friendly" I say kid friendly, cause I'm kinda a picky eater. If I can't pronounce it- I probably won't eat it. Also, I don't actually have kids, but I have a fiance that I cook for too!! And so I need recipes that will fill up my honey too!! Thank you thank you thank you (in advance) part of keeping up with this for me is NOT getting bored, and that means trying new recipes & having fun with my weight loss.

This is a recipe I made up on my own. I call it "Honey Lemon Garlic Chicken" Pan fry 3 small chicken breasts (I prefer to use a grill pan) 6 min on each side Mix together and pour over chicken: 3 T honey 3 ****er 3 T any vinegar zest of one lemon juice from same lemon 1 tsp garlic powder Keep over heat until reduced to a thin syrup consistency. Serving size is one chicken breast. 368 cal, 7 fat, 27 carb, 50 protein I've been serving this with the "Steam in the bag" broccoli/cauliflower mix and a bag of boil in bag brown rice (for my husband....if I have to eat healthy, so does he!) Good luck with this....hope you like it.

Wow that sounds really good - I wonder if you could use Lemon jell-o or something and splenda instead of honey...What do you think? I am only pre-op, but I completely agree - I am disabled and still work, but don't make much money per month and even now the prices are killing my bank account..it's like I have to make a choice between physio and eating healthy!
