Does anyone know how to figure nutritional facts out for food items? I have been using fitday.com religiously since surgery and have heard that you can input certain ingredients into recording your daily intake. However, I have not figured out how to do that. Okay, so my specific query is that I found terrific Paula Deen flourless peanut butter cookies made with Splenda and I need to know how to input the nutritional facts into fitday.com. I looked on foodnetwork.com, which is where I found the recipe, but they are "an entertainment website only" and are not required to carry nutritional facts, unless the show is specifically designed to be a health-related show. *frustrated sigh* Any suggestions? Please! Jen Halliday

Hi, I actually have a flourless peanut butter cookie recipe I got from this website. TO put the facts into fitday, what I did was write down all the nutrition facts for each ingredient (only 4 ingredients!) and totalled them up for each nutritional category. I c. peanut butter (I used Skippy reduced fat) 1 c. Splenda for baking 1 egg (can cut some fat by using egg beaters) 1 tsp. Vanilla Preheat oven to 350; says to grease a large baking sheet, but I just used a piece of parchment paper on top of the pan In a mixing bowl, combine the peanut butter, sugar, egg and vanilla; stir well with a spoon. Roll the dough into balls, the size of walnuts (yields 18 cookies) Place balls on baking sheet and with a fork dipped in Splenda, press a criss-cross on top of each cookie Bake for 12 minutes, remove from oven, and sprinkle with Splenda (I did not do this). Cool slightly and move to cookie rack for cooling. *I timed these exactly 12 minutes in the oven and I took them out and they re perfect. Jen I also use fitday but in order to figure out the nutritional value of food you need to buy the fitday program which I have done. If you would like to send me the recipe I would be glad to figure it out for you and send it back. My email is [email protected] if you would like for me to do this for you. Laural
