Cookbook is cooking
Well, I know that I have shared with you all that I finally published a cookbook. I had three hundred printed with the thoughts that I might be able to sell that many (hope..hope..hope). Well, things have gone better then I would have believed. Through word-of-mouth, I have sold at least 250 of them and have been asked to do a reprint. Several area Curves and several area doctor's offices would like to try and sell them. I have also been approached to try and sell them through Costco and BJs Wholesale Stores. Who would think it. Now, I have to look into ISBN numbers, etc. The best part is...is that I have done this through word-of-mouth. I am building a website... (very hard for a computer dork, like me) but that hasn't worked yet... Can't wait to see what happens after I do get online though. I decided that since the money isn't the issue...getting the recipes out to help others is.....that I would take some of the profits and donate it to the American Diabetes Association and the American Heart Association. Needless to say, this little hobby of mine has helped to focus on my mind on something other then eating... Thanks for letting me chat about it....
Hello...Hello...Hello......
Well, it has taken me a little longer to get this e-mail out to everybody, but due to computer issues...it has been delayed. In reality, though, the computer issues...are my lack of knowledge. I have been in the process of putting together a webpage...and it has just taken me longer then I expected to find a decent free hosting sight that works with my methods of creation.... But....on with the purpose of this e-mail.
I wanted to share with you the fact that I have been published. I have written a cookbook. My cookbook is titled: Cooking After Gastric Bypass Surgery: A Collection of Low Fat & Sugar Free Recipes. It is approximately 175 pages long with over 440 recipes. The recipes range from appetizers and beverages, soups and salads, vegetables and side dishes, main dishes to breads and rolls, desserts, and cookies and candy. There is a forward in this book by my surgeon (Dr. Alex Gandsas) and my nutritionist (Nancy Lum)..both from Sinai Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. This cookbook has been "published" by Morris Press Cookbooks.
Although I am still working on my webpage, I wanted to let you know about it and to furnish you with information regarding the ordering process if you are interested. The cost of the cookbook is $11.00. There is an additional cost of $3.00 for shipping and handling. Checks and/or money orders can be made out to Daniel Fluharty. They can be sent to Daniel P. Fluharty, 7083 Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard #136, Glen Burnie, Maryland 21061.
Currently, I am beginning to run low on the inventory due to the wonderful sales I have had through word of mouth. If you are interested in obtaining one of these cookbooks, please e-mail me at [email protected] . If youdecide to purchase a cookbook (or more then one)...please e-mail me and I will hold it aside for you until I receive payment. As soon as I receive your payment... I will notify you that I have received it and that the book has been mailed. I am currently considering having a second printing done...because it has been suggested that I look into a few national avenues of distribution.
Again, this is just a FYI letter....thought you might be interested in knowing about my most recent little venture....
If you have any further questions...please feel free to contact me at your earliest convenience.
Thank you in advance............. Daniel P. Fluharty
