Hot Crab Dip

My mom used to make this for every party as an appetizer and I love it. Double or triple recipe for a party amount. Basic Recipe: 1 can crab (size of tuna can) or eq. amount of imitation crab 1 box cream cheese (can be fat free) Spices of your choice (I use garlic salt, dehydrated onions and Season All) Thin sliced almonds Mix crab, cream cheese and spices until well blended, put in oven safe container and layer the top with the almonds (for variety you can gently toast the almonds in a fry pan with a little butter spray and/or light season salt - don't make them too brown) Put in the oven about 300 or so until mixture starts to bubble and almonds are toasty brown - Serve hot with crackers (or us post-ops can use low carb chips or something) This is not a strict recipe and if you like seafood you can jazz it up however you want!
