  Good Tuesday morning Everyone,

Hope that everyone is having a good week.     I hope also that you all know that even though life may not be treating you as you think you deserve you are blessed and have so much to be grateful for.   Seems to me you do anyway.   You are awake and alive....obviously have a computer or at least access to one and you have eyes to see and a brain to think with.     Yep....you should be VERY grateful.    Sometimes it is the little things in life that we seem to take for granted....but we have NO guarantees of these things or anything else for that matter.    Today I am grateful for my health insurance through my hubby's job.   Our 21 yr. old son is about to be dropped.   I am not happy about it but nothing that I can do about it.    He goes to a private Christian college and it is unacredited.    That is the clincher of him losing his coverage...the fact that the college of his choice is unacredited.   UGH Oh well....God is in control and I know that he will watch over my son's health  because he is going to college to do work for the church ( Music minister degree and also theology degree for the ministry ).    I am SO proud of all 3 of my sons.   Oldest going to be a teacher for Teach For America ( in a few weeks ), middle son looking to start college to become a teacher also....and my youngest I just spoke of.   I am blessed today and God is still in control even though my youngest son will be losing his coverage.    SO I am grateful for insurance coverage today.   PLEASE share with us if you will what you are grateful for today.    Have a blessed day !!!

Hugs and blessings ~~~ Vivian

  Good Morning Everyone,

First off....Let me tell you that Life is SHORT and that you should be grateful for everything in it.   I was on Facebook last night and a friend of mine who I haven't seen in over a year who had WLS the year before me and was a HUGE support for me here on OH passed away June 11th.   I am so bummed out about it.    She will be grately missed and I loved her dearly.    So happy that I had her in my life and that she was there to support and encourage me in the beginning of my WLS journey. So today I am grateful for Debbie Matthews and all the love and support and encouragement that she gave me in the beginning of my journey and for the friendship that we had.   PLEASE don't take life for granted....none of us has any guarantees of tomorrow.    PLEASE share with us if you will what you are grateful for today.   Have a blessed day !!!

Hugs and blessings ~~~ Vivian

Congratulations on your new band and a wonderful tool. You may find that those foods you think you can't live without may have no appeal to you and foods which may not have appealed to you in the past may become your favorites. This happened to me. I thought I'd miss pasta and it doesn't appeal to me now and refried free beans is now a favorite. Take your time with food and don't push your band it's not worth the risks of complications. Best of luck.

I have to agree with MrsPotter3. Please see your nutritionist!!!! Also she is right about not focusing on the foods you ate before....this is a lifetime commitment. Treats once in a while are fine..but, please be focused on a healthy food plan.

Thank you for your support. I ended up in the emergency room and was then admitted. They removed all the fluid from my band. Did an x-ray and CT scan. It looks like I dodged a bullet. My band is in its correct position and the is no slippage. It is believed that I got over filled and that caused lots of swelling. I'm on phase 1 diet right now and will be ad advanced soon to phase 2. I feel a lot better now and with some more rest the swelling should go down more. Thanks everyone.
