Sportsgirl,
I don't know how you feel in regards to surgery because I have not had my procedure yet. I do know how it feels to not be motivated and to be stressed with the daily grind of life. I want you to remember why you decided to make your lifestyle change in the first place. I has spoken with others who had the surgery and they say it is the best thing they could have done. I am sure you must have felt that as well. Remember that feeling. Remember that slips occur that my detour you but get back on the right road in your journey. I attended a support group last night(my first) and it was wonderful to hear others stories and struggles. If you are not a part of one, find one and go to the meetings. I can't wait to go back. Prayer helps me get through difficult times. Try praying and asking for the motivation. I encourage you to get back on track and continue. Good luck.
Hope everyone is having a good week. We ALL have so very many things in our lives to be grateful for. This post is to remind of that no matter how bleak our life seems to be that there is always someone out there much worse off than we are. There are too many nay-sayers out there who will try to discourage you.
Don't listen to them.
The only one who can make you give up is yourself.

Trippsmommy,
CONGRATS on your SUCCESS!! You’re doing EXCELLENT. BE PROUD !!
Have you contacted your Bariatric Doctor? This is the advice I give everyone. I rather hear “that’s quite normal" then to hear “why didn’t you contact me when you first experienced this". And no slight to anyone in the medical field, but unless one has experience in Bariatrics, they aren’t that knowledgeable about what is or isn’t normal.
Now, this arm-chair non-physician thinks:
ADVICE WARNING: TALK TO THE DOCTOR BEFORE INCREASING /CHANGE YOUR INTAKE
(A) you’re not eating enough hence the reason you’re sluggish, cold & tired. You need to get those protein requirements in. And you need to eat in order to lose weight. If you don’t, your body goes into “starvation" mode and will store as much as it can
(B) The stuck issue could be because you (1) dehydrated – are you getting the recommended about of fluids in? You may want to try drinking something warm before you eat, in order to relax and open the esophagus better. If your Doctor/Nutritionists has rules about drinking before eating – adhere to them. However drinking something warm 30 minutes before can still help (2) The “size" of the food is too big. Always ask yourself, would I give this size to a baby (3) the food may be too dry or fibrous. If too dry, dip in something “moist" (gravy; broth; non-fat condiments).
(C) Grazing goes back to not eating enough in your meals. Remember PROTEIN is going to keep you full, longer. So if you can’t eat it, drink it. GET THOSE PROTEINS IN!!
(D) Stalls are natural part of weight loss. It seems the body “catches on" to what we have been doing, and holds onto everything. After a while, the lost restarts and things go well.
However, stalls can also because by eating (a) too much (b) not enough. I know it sounds a little contradictory, and I will try to explain.
Too much: While we need to make sure we hit our protein requirements (60-80 grams, or whatever your Doctor told you), we need to make sure the carbs, calories, etc are “acceptable". Remember, you don’t want to make your 80 grams of protein by eating 4 gallons of ice cream or a starchy carb.
Not enough: Again, make sure you are meeting your daily protein requirements. THIS IS IMPORTANT TO WEIGHT LOSS. The body is a marvelous machine, and it will protect itself. If one doesn’t eat enough, the body’s metabolism will slow down - in order to keep itself functioning. If a person intake is less then what it expels, the body will start to “store" food.
I hope this novel was helpful.

Stang_Girl66,
Honest answer: I can't tell ya’. Only YOU know YOU, and what YOU can handle. For some this may seem like a lot. For others, this may be exactly what is needed to keep them "busy" during their journey.
This is my advice, and take it for what it’s worth, remember your number one priority is YOU!! Not the house, but YOU. If you feel that the house is overriding you success, then scale down on the house, and work more on STANG_GIRL66. Once that structure has been successfully renovated then it’s time to move onto other project.
And remember both projects are a LONG TERM project. You’re not going to do it overnight. IMHO make long realistic timeline goals for each. And if you don’t hit them when you’re suppose to – DON’T PANIC!! There is no real timeline when the success needs to be completed. Remember, some of our greatest works took YEARS to complete.
Good luck, and know I will be here if you need. While I may have 10 thumbs, I will try to help the best way I can.

I know everyone is different, and everyone has some "vanity" (may not be the best word) criteria .
For ME: when people ask about the possible hair loss, or "loose" skin issue, my philosophy is "You can hide hair loss/loose skin, but you can't hide fat?". If these issues are the side effect of being healthy, then For ME I rather wear a hat; wig; girdle; different clothing; etc then to remain where I was.
Of course I know my philosophy is different from others, and I am not claiming one is right or wrong. It's just how I look at things.
Again, if you do get hair loss - it's usually temporary.
