Topic: Surgery soon
I've waited years to be able to have this surgery. I just found out, as I met with the nutritionist/nurse meeting right before the surgery that mine will be a "realize" band. I'm fine with that, and actually feel better about having that compared to the "lapband". I just didn't know what "realize" was, then they showed me what it is. I've been on the lapband board for years. So I'm new to this group. I'm getting more and more excited about the idea of getting the band. But I've been seeing a lot of negative remarks on the other boards. Hopefully, this will be a much more positive experience.

Kimkeever,
CONGRATS YOU LOSER!! What excellent progress!! You're doing fine!!
Just keep following the Doctor's orders, and try to make sure you get the fluids in.
Exercise slowly and do "simple" things like park to the farthest part of the lot and walk into the store, climb a flight of stairs, actually get up and manually change the television channel.

So I had my lap band surgery (the realize band) 4 weeks ago this past Wednesday...I am down 35 pounds so far in a month...Still need to work on the exercising and drinking my water...Been trying to do what the dr office says to do...I can tell though that I have been having success so far with the weight loss, and also fitting into smaller clothes .....I would like to try to get down 65 more pounds but that will be one small goal at a time....

Called my doc's office and talked to his PA, who does all the fills. She is making an appointment for me to come in next week. She said it was ok because it was more than 2 weeks since I had been there. So, at least I feel like I am being listened to, and she will decide if I neeed a fill, or if something else is going on.
Thanks for the support, everyone!

Topic: FRIDAY GRATEFUL POST
Morning Everyone,
Well friday and our weekend has finally arrived. I believe that is what we all wait for each week. Happy Mother's Day early for all the Mom's out there that read this post daily. I hope everyone has a great weekend and day today. As I think about life.....we ALL have so very much in our lives to be grateful for. No matter how large or how small.....there is always something in our life to be grateful for. We are a blessed people whether we realize it or not. None of us has any guarantees of waking up tomorrow or even returning home today from work or whatever. Life is a gift that we take for granted and I am talking to myself too not just you. We should ALL on a daily basis verbalize to everyone how grateful we are for the good things in life that come our way. PLEASE share with us if you wish what you are grateful for today. Here is my list for today.......
Grateful today for.....
Waking today to a beautiful day that is a blessing to me,
For my WLS and all available WLS for our choosing,
For my Life and Health,
Family and Friends,
For my Faith and Answered Prayers,
For all the things in my life that I take for granted daily,
For my husband and 3 sons,
For my lunch that I will have today with my future daughter in law and her Mom,
For my son being blessed with such a precious bride to be who will be my DIL next week,
For my church home and the blessings that they bring to my life,
For my home, car, fur babies, husband's job and just life in general.
For Obesity Help and all the wonderful people here and all the message boards,
For the upcoming OH Conference in New Orleans, La. Sept. 9-10 .
Hugs and blessings ~~~ Vivian

Kim.
For me I've been open about my operation and never mind a question concerning it. I realize (no pun intended) most people are ignorant went it comes to these types of procedures.
However, I've always been told when a inappropriate question is asked, the best reply is silence. If person questions again, respond in silence again. And if the person asks "did you hear me", you can simply say "yes".
Now for me, I would reply and then ask something snarky to them. But that's me.

Tom, just wondering if you ever noticed I write Losers' Bench rather than Loser's bench. I am a grammar freak, and with the apostrophe AFTER the S in "loser" it includes MANY LOSERS. You do not have to change how you write it, I , like I said am a grammar freak from WAY BACK in high school 100 years ago LOL
