I personally have not been banded yet, looking at june, but my son-in-law was banded on feb.28 and he said he didn't feel restriction, but his food intake has really went down and he has lost about 46 lbs. he will gain a couple but he loses it in a day or so. Just thought i would mention that . he has been filled twice.

You count yourself lucky!!!! I 've been on liquids 31/2 weeks.
Dying for some chicken, tuna anything.
Maybe your pain and my left shoulder pain is a reminder not to overeat.  I went down 14,  but not much since surgery.   I'm on day 9, I can barley feel the surgery.
Hang in there. Talk later/  Katie

I am glad to hear that you are finally getting the surgery.  I, too, have heard so many negative comments about the lapband.  I have friends with the lapband, but my doc was committed to the realize band and I am glad.  Congratulations.

Katie, thanks for letting me know what to expect.  I am on pureed, not the soft diet.  It looks as if  they are similar.  I am looking forward to the soft though.  For some reason I want crackers and tuna.  LOL  Go figure.  I am very full and miserable at the moment.  I ate mashed potatoes and an hour and 1/2 later I made a protein shake.  Of course I didn't get through it all and I am miserable.  This happened last night as well.  I guess I am learning.  It's not too painful, just feels like I ate too much at a buffet.  Not a good feeling.  I do find myself burping a lot.  If I can burp, I feel much better.  I am looking forward to day 7.   My stomach is still swollen, but I am down 11lbs in two weeks and loving it.  Good luck Katie.

Hi Purplelady,
CONGRATULATIONS, it's finally done, and your on your way. They told me 7 days and I'd feel great, and they were right on. 9 days and I feel wonderful.

I'm jealous your on soft foods, I have to wait two weeks from surgery.
I had trouble eating and drinking anything for 3 days, then little by little. Today I'm on the full post-op diet. The water is a *****.  But, otherwise not hungry at all, and looking forward to mushies.

You might get hiccups, just ask anything and you shall receive knowledge.
Great going LADY, we are on our way.
