Personally I'd skip the fill tomorrow until you figure out why you are getting stuck. Most likely it is from eating too fast and maybe too big a bite. Try cutting your food into the size of a pencil eraser and chew till liquidy. Then be sure one bite is all the way down before taking another. It takes awhile to get the hang of the new eating habits especially if we are used to shoveling a huge bite in before swallowing the first bite. It really is important to eat slowly and thoroughly. Good luck!

I had that happen once, i think I ate it too fast, it was a part of a sandwich (12 grain bread) and it got stuck....that was the most uncomfortable thing I went through so far...It probably was when you were eating too fast...I asked a co-worker if she had experienced it and she said that what it was...Mine felt like I was going to throw up....i gave it a few minutes and was fine after that...

Topic: Have not had a fill yet, but food is getting stuck...
Hi everybody,

I had my surgery almost 2 months ago, but have not had a fill yet - it's scheduled for tomorrow.  However, from time to time I still have food stuck, which manifests itself in pain and spasms in esophagus area. Up until yesterday it was happening quite rarely, I think mostly when I was eating too fast.  However, since yesterday I had food stuck 3 times already, and it was soft food, like scrambled eggs...

Has anybody experience anything like that?  Is it normal to have esophagus pain/spasms?

Thank you!

Topic: TUESDAY GRATEFUL POST
  Morning Everyone,

Prayers needed big time.   The lady who was going to make my son and future DIL's wedding cake told her saturday ( wedding is this friday ) that she couldn't do it.     SO my sister and I are going to make it.    I haven't made a cake to this magnitude in over 10 yrs.    By the time it is finished it will be about 4-5' tall.    Please pray with me if you believe in prayer that it will turn out well and that I won't drop it getting it to the church friday AM or when assembling it.     Hate last minute changes.  UGH.   Now for the grateful post.   LOL   SO grateful that things are going smoothly.   Life doesn't always promise us a rose garden.    We have to sometimes experience the thorns along the way.    We do ALL have so very much in our lives to be so grateful for.    PLEASE share with us what you are grateful for if you with.     Here are a few of the things that I am so grateful for.......

My Life and health,
That I have energy to burn and am like the engergizer bunny and keep going,
For my Faith and answered prayers,
For my 3 sons and what a blessing that they have been to my life,
That my oldest son found a beautiful woman to marry ( both inside and out ),
For my WLS and all the choices for surgeries that all work if you work them correctly,
For my husband who works so hard for our family,
For my sanity ( what I have left of it......LOL....you think I am kidding????  LOL ),
For my home, car, husband's job,
For Obesity Help and all the wonderful people on it.
For upcoming OH Conference in New Orleans, La. Sept. 9-10.   Hope to see you there !!!!

Have a blessed day !!!
Hugs and blessings ~~~ Vivian

Amy,

Thanks for sharing another great example of a NON-SCALE VICTORY (NSV)!! It was wonderful to read!!

As for making good choices in places like this, it's gonna be hard. What you need to remember, even if you eat something no so healthy take pride in eating LESS of it. That's the true victory!!
Good Luck on your Journey !!

Stephanie,
So glad you are scheduled for your surgery.  I am almost a week out.  I have to say I am getting tired of the pureed food, but I am grateful as well for making the decision.  I am so grateful for this website.  I wish you luck and can't wait to see the results.  Take care.
