Topic: RE: Emotional Eating
I don't have a problem with emotional eating, but I do have "head hunger". I was fine during the liquid diet phase, it is just happening now. I need to remember to drink water instead of immediately turning to the food. I do not want to mess up what I worked for either. Stay strong in the Lord and you will get through this. Praying for you!
Topic: What were your feelings right before surgery?
Other than the headaches, light headedness and hunger. How were your emotions right before surgery? I was doing okay before I got the news at work, now I'm upset, but at least I didn't emotional eat. Having deep budget cuts and layoffs, so the newbies got pinked today, and I'm a newbie. My insurance carries over for 4 more months, then I can use COBRA, but it's just bad timing.

Abanadarina,
I am a newbie. I had my realize band surgery on May 3, 2011. I haven't received a fill yet. I have lost 20lbs. I can eat almost anything, but not as much. I am finding this week that willpower is my strongest tool. I want to eat up everything. I am still sore and just the reminder of the incision, makes me think more about what I put in my mouth. My doc has stated that if I continue to lose, I may not need a fill. I hope your surgery goes well. Keep us posted.

Handtlkr,
Emotional eating is my worst enemy. Everything is excerbated when you can't eat what you want to eat. Stay strong and continue to turn to the Lord. Let Him feel those needs for you. I know it is easier said than done, but we all go through this. I continue to struggle with eating emotionally. Hang in there.

Normally, and my first instinct was...grab something to stop the pain. Not hunger pangs, but emotional feelings. I'm on the 11th day of my 14-day liquid diet before surgery and I got some rough news today. Just have to hand it over to the Lord and try to work past the "hunger" feelings. I don't want to mess up what I've worked so hard for so many years to get to and just be a few days away.

Wow, your doing Great!! I didn't drop any weight until I was about 5 months out from surgery. It took that long to get some restriction!! That was definitely a frustrating time.
It doesn't seem like I am two years out, the time goes by so quickly and when you look back you can see how far you've come!!
