Saturday June 9 - American Cancer Society Relay for Life.
This Saturday I am participating in the American Cancer Society Relay for Life. The relay is an overnight event; teams camp around the track; member take turns walking the track for the event duration.
I originally joined a team, and I guess I now have my own team. I am asking all my friends to help this cause with a small donation. No more than $5.00, but if you want to give more that would be great. I know times are hard for all of us, and each dollar is golden to one and all.
Cancer claimed the life of my Mom (age 52); Aunt Janie (age 45); various other relatives, and now a very close friend. Currently, two family members are battling it. I have various family and friends who had “a scare", but, praise God, are better now.. I don’t care if you donate to me directly, or the team I am on, or another person/team somewhere else. It all goes to the same cause.
If you donate, and even if you don’t, I will be willing to “honor" anyone who has/had cancer. Please send me their name (PM is fine), and I will create their own personal flyer (note: it’s a cheap, normal, printer paper flyer), and carry their name on various laps, in honor/support of them. It’s the least I can do.
Thanks in advance, and if nothing else, pray for nice weather!!!
