What were your feelings right before surgery?

Other than the headaches, light headedness and hunger. How were your emotions right before surgery? I was doing okay before I got the news at work, now I'm upset, but at least I didn't emotional eat.  Having deep budget cuts and layoffs, so the newbies got pinked today, and I'm a newbie.  My insurance carries over for 4 more months, then I can use COBRA, but it's just bad timing.

I've been robbed! My grandbaby stole my heart!  She just raised her hands and I surrendered.

I did not have the "lightheadedness" until 1 week into my 2 week after surgery liquid diet. They let me start eating pureed food a week early. Personally I like the liquid diet phase, only because you are told what to eat and when to eat and exact measurements of the things you can eat(liquids, I mean of course). I am sorry about your job. You are in my prayers. Keep the Faith!

I haven't been having any of those things until yesterday, so I'm sure it was just stress.  I'm fine today and have the weekend to think about the changes that have to be made for work.  I've brought A LOT of stuff to work of my own and I have to get it outta there.  Then, since I moved to this location just so I could work here, I'll be moving back to my home area, 6 hours away, so I have to pack my house here, of what I want to keep for my other house and have a yard sale for all the stuff I'm not taking back with me.  I'm sure I was just overwhelmed with the surprise announcement and then the thoughts of what I have to do next.

I've been robbed! My grandbaby stole my heart!  She just raised her hands and I surrendered.

I am so sorry about the loss of your job. You are right, the timing is terrible. I am so happy you will still be able to have your surgery. I am hoping that after your surgery, something even better will come your way.

I have started to become a bit emotional as I get closer to my surgery date next Thursday. I did get light headed and was told to add a little more food in my diet. I eat an extra piece of fruit or some yogurt.

Sending lots of positive thoughts your way.

Stephanie,
You are not on a liquid diet this close to your surgery? You get to have fruit? I am surprised, but I know all doctors are different. Just wondering.

I'm so sorry you are going through all this stress right now.  I'm sure all your worries are making everything worse.  Before surgery I was worried but excited at the same time.  When is your surgery date again?  I can't remember.  I'll be sending positive thoughts your way.

One day at a time, and one meal at a time, and I WILL reach my goal!

Maybe this will lighten your feelings … I had no apprehension and fear until about 30 minutes before the operation. And it had nothing to do about the operation .. well kinda it DID … so let me rephrase: It had nothing to do about the PROCEDURE, but it had to do about the OPERATION.

See I never had an operation before, and I didn’t know what to expect. Well I freaked and flipped when I was informed I need to … well .. hmmmm .. errrrr .. remove my “undergarments". I was mortified that anyone would see ... errrrrr .. hmmmmmmm .. my short comings.

I was livid and refused to remove my underwear. I was told if I didn’t I couldn’t have the operation, and I said it was fine and I was planning on leaving. Thank goodness my Sister was there to calm me down, and used the voice of reason. After I relented, and had a “****tail" (anesthesia) I could care less what happened.

OK, stop laughing!!

Good luck, and probably by the time you read this it’s be all over!!

And I too am sorry about the ‘timing" of the layoff. But I firmly believe things happen for a reason, and this could be a blessing.

Good Luck on your Journey !!

Tom
