Protein question

I asked questions some time back about protein, and Tom was so kind to give me lots of information. I have greatly increased my protein intake, thanks to Tom. I've bought some small quantities of protein powder at the grocery store and got some samples from a mail-order place, but want to buy a larger quantity. I don't know if it's "Kosher" to ask for brand names, but I'm wondering what brands do fit the 100-calories that Tom suggested. Can anyone help?

I like Unjury which I get directly from them.
For a splurge, I use BSN Syntha-6 Choc. Peanut Butter, Choc. Mint and/or Mochacinno :)

Sam's Club, if you have one nearby, has protein powder in HUGE quantities. Of course, you need a membership (or a friend/relative with a membership) to be able to shop there.)

I do have a membership. But is it a Sam's brand or some other brand? I've already noticed a difference in the way powders dissolve, taste, etc. I'm looking for some recommendations of good-tasting, easy-dissolving, low-calorie, high-protein powders. (I don't want much, do I?) :)

I am not sure what the brand at Sam's Club is, sorry. I (with my surgeon's approval/given option ) used Non fat powdered dry milk. They had a formula for how much to add to get the proper grams of protein. I don't think lots of places do that(at least I get funny looks when I tell people that is what I use), so your team may not "allow" that. I did it because it was more cost -effective for me(my husband and I are on Food Stamps). Just my 2 cents worth....sorry...

GNC stores also have a plain flavor version of protein powder and a french vanilla flavor so that works well, depending on what you are adding it to.(A friend gave me some of hers to try)

SEI Pharmaceuticals Ultimate Protein (Don't get Max Protein -- Not as delicious as Ultimate and smells like protein IMO) Eggface has a 20% off coupon code on her blog good all year long as many times as you want to use it (EGGFACE2010).

Also find a place near you that sells Torani Sugar-Free Syrups and stock up on then -- you can make a variety of flavors by adding the syrup (no calories or carbs)

I make flavors like: PEACH PIE, CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIE DOUGH ICE CREAM, APPLE PIE ALA MODE, PUMPKIN PIE, LEMON CREME, ETC . . .

Having variety helps keep you from getting bored!

I have lots of shake recipes on my blog (see blog address above my ticker in signature)

I like the Cytosport brands. Also another good one seems to be Dymatize. I would suggest going to Vita Lady and order “samples" from her. You can try a whole assortment, and then find the ones YOU like www.vitalady.com/protein.htm
Good Luck on your Journey !!

I'm with Tom. The Cytosport is what I use, but my surgeon's office recommends Ungury (I think that's how it's spelled). I like Cytosport because it works and is convenient as they sell it at Walmart in bulk.
One day at a time.

Thanks, all. As usual, you guys came through. If anybody has any other suggestions, that would be great. I have ordered some samples from VitaLady and Unjury. I'm reluctant to put out big bucks for some powder that doesn't dissolve well or tastes awful, so personal experience is always great.
