Hi Anna, I just said a prayer for you, and I hope you did well. I too have panic attacks and I am confused  but I am in the process of getting all the pre-surgical testing done , If I don't back out , my surgery should be in may or june. Hope you have good luck.

Hello everyone
Wel had the sugery yesterday and according Dr. T it went in real easy. The only problems I had were
(1) they gave me the wrong time to be at the hospital, they did get a patient in my slot and i just took  theirs.
(2) I was nausous all day they gave me so many different medicines to try and get rid of it but nothing work. Never got over it till this morning Had dry heaves all day not fun at all.I was to the point that I had wished I hadnt done it but Im over that thought for now
(3) Just weighed my self and I have gained 5 pounds since yesterday morning. Im hoping it was just all the fluids they put into me.
(4) I have pain where my incisions are and some gas pain in between my shoulder blades. But nothng worth complainingabout.
All told it wasnt as bad as I thought it would be. The hospital staff was just wonderful If they were closer to me I would switch over in a minute.
You all have a good day Im going to go take a nap didnt get much sleep last night. Maybe I will sleep better in my bed

 Hi Anna,

Sounds like it went well! The fact that you aren't wishing you didn't have it this early is awesome! I wished it for about 3 days. Of course, as I was coming out of anesthesia, I coughed really hard and popped an internal stitch so they had to put me back under and go back in to restitch it. I'm assuming that's why I thought I was dieing. Haha! Anyway, everything else sounds pretty normal to me. I didn't have the weight gain right after, but I didn't really eat for a few days. Glad your gas pain isn't that bad. You won't believe how soon you feel like a different person. You will be able to do so many things you couldn't before in a much shorter time than you probably ever imagined. I look forward to hearing more about your progress! Keep it up!

I agree. I can not believe that now I do not mind going for walks. I used to hate it because I had so much pain in my back and legs, now I love it! I start "normal diet" tomorrow, am sort of nervous about that, but...I am so glad I had the surgery. I am glad you are happy you did it too! I hope that since I will be on regular foods I will be more able to get in the fluids I know I need., since I can no longer have snacks, just 3 meals. I just tried on more clothes today I had put aside, and guess what!?!??! MOST of them already fit me! I am so happy. I can not wait to go shopping for shorts for the summer The lat pair I bought were 22. I now am wearing 16!! Have a great night!

Anna,

For the most part things sound like it went very well. I too was nauseous when I came home, but that was because of the Anesthesia. It lasted until I slept it off.

Don't worry about the weight gain. Could be the fluids; gases; or something else. In a few weeks, when the lost is going strong, these 5 pounds won't matter.

The pain the shoulder can last a while. It's the gases trying to escape. I know some folks who force burps in order to get rid of the gas. Not sure if it really works.

Well rest up the next few weeks, and come back when you feel like you want to share or have a question.

Glad to see you officially on the Loser's Bench - even if you are napping :D
Good Luck on your Journey !!
