I need so Lovin

Please don't think i have it all figured out.  That is the last thing I have.  I am such a mess. I am so mad at myself I am sad and depressed.  I wish I could be one of those people who get it right 1/2 the time.  I stumble and fall all the time.  I have a friend who did the surgery 4 months after I did we weight the same when we both had our surgery and now  she is 40lbs less them me.  I know I shouldn't compare myself to other but sometime we all do.  I want to cry.  I wrote these things down and a visual to myself now the trick to to keep the promises.  I hope I do.  Thanks again for the response I really need to feel the support from my OH family.

I have to report that because of bad behavior I gained 8lbs.  What was I thinking.  Well I will tell you.....If I eat this I won't gain back ALL the weight I lost.  If I eat that I won't gain back ALL the weight I lost.  Week after week I allowed myself to hide from you my scale and my band.  I saw that my pants were getting tight and my face was getting fuller.  But I ignored the signs.  January turned to February and February turned to March...But before March turns to April, I am back trying to gain control of myself.  I have to tell you even with the band you can easily gain if you allow yourself to lose yourself.  I refuse to be in the next size up.  I commit the following

1- Track every day

2-Be mindful of what my stomach is telling me

3-Remove trigger foods from my house

4-No more slider foods

5-Eat Breakfast

6-Visit OH and go to support meeting.

Thanks for reading.  And if you feel like encouraging me please do.  All words of wisdom are helpful. xoxo

Hello all my bandster friends...just a little cheering up...we all have taken a detour a few times during our lapband journey, I can honestly say I have been fighting a plateu and fluctuation for the past 6 months. It started just before the holidays...and then got hooked on sweets.  Well after fighting it for so long, my doctor got real with me and hopefully I am back on track...have joined an excercise group...and had an adjustment on my band and so far so good.  Don"t beat yourself up as it will only make you more depressed and then eat more.  I am an emotional eater and the doctor has me seeing a psychologist to help me with that problem. I have lost over half my weight needed to lose, but right now trying to stick with a program to start declining the weight loss again.   Hang in there, don't dwell on what you have done in the past...today is a new day and a new beginning.  You can do it...

For everyone who hasn't been 100% ... Here is the toughest love you will get .. Yesterday is over and done with. There is nothing we can do about it. Tomorrow is NOW, and it’s time to get yourself back on track.

First – remember this isn’t a diet plan; it’s a way of life. So slips, stumbles and falls will occur. What we do when this happens is truly important. You need to get yourself up, dust yourself off, and get yourself to continue down the road to success.

What you first need to do is ask yourself “Where did I come from" .. then ask yourself “Why did I do this operation" – basically the answer is because it’s a last resort.

You need to realize you are stronger than any craving or any food. It took strength to admit you have a problem you can’t control. It took strength to decide to have an operation. It took strength to do what was needed before and after the operation. It took strength to say “I need help" .. So you have the strength, now you need to call on it.

GET BACK TO THE BASICS !! I tell everyone that. Pretend today was day one of the operation and go back to a strict liquid diet. Do this for a few days (maybe a week), then go onto the next stage of soft food then finally regular food. What you are doing it is detoxing your body of the sugars and bad carbs. When you find yourself hungry – eat .. but SENSIBLE foods. Make sure you also follow all the rules.

You need to go back and follow the rules that made you successful. You need to have the 64 ounces of NON-CARBONATE/DECAFFEINATED liquid. You need to have your 60 to 80 grams of protein. You need to make sure you don’t drink 30 minutes before/after or during your meal.

What you need to remember is they put the band around your stomach, and not around your brain. You will need to use some self control when it comes to food. If you are hungry stop and ask yourself is this real hunger or head hunger. Asking that alone will probably be an indication it’s head hunger, so you know what to do. Get busy doing something else. If that doesn’t work, EAT – but SOMETHING HEALTHY. Have some salad; vegetables, PROTEIN, etc.

You need to get to support groups. Look on line to find ones around you. You need to discuss this with your Doctor. That’s why he’s there. If you feel you’re not getting the support from him, then you need to go to another Doctor. Remember you are the client/consumer. If you’re paying for a service, you want the best service for that money. If not, move on. You are worth THE BEST because YOU ARE THE BEST !!

You also need to speak to a Nutritionist. Many insurance companies allow you to see one X amount of times per year. Contact your insurance company. Go and speak to the person who did your psych exam, or see someone new. Again, insurance should be able to cover it. Maybe not the person you originally saw, but someone in your plan.

Now be PROUD of those 8 pounds GAINED!!! No that isn’t a typo (God knows I have tons of them). But be proud it wasn’t 10 pounds, or 20 pounds or 80 pounds. It was only 8 pounds, and you have the inner strength to say enough is enough. Using a military analogy: (if you’re like me) in our “past life" we would see a weight gain as a ‘defeat’, and decide that since I already ‘lost this battle" I might as well “lose the war"; admit defeat, and eat uncontrollably. Today, we have realized we haven’t “lost the battle", but had a “minor skirmish setback". We need to regroup, with help of the troops (folks on the board and/or support groups) – get the weapons and/or artillery (the correct foods and mindset) and go and try to conqueror our foe.

I love you have taken control, and have a list of rules to follow.

REMEMBER YOU CAN DO IT !!

And know I am here if you need me.

Good Luck on your Journey !!

Tom

Thank you so much Tom.  I printed out this.  It was inspiring.  Your right it could have been so much worse.  I could have drop the ball completely.  I don't that before the surgery and we know people who have done it after.  I am proud that it was only 8lbs.  I am back on track doing what I need to do.  I will definitely reach out to you now and again if that is OK and I hope to see you at a meeting or two.  xoxo

I just want to say I was just like you...I was not exactly a band success story.

But I want you to know I turned myself around.  I recommitted myself to healthy eating and exercise.  Now I am days away from my 2 year anniversary and I have lost 140 lbs so far!!!  I just wanted to let you know all is not lost.  I was able to turn myself around.  I know you can too.

Good luck

Thank you so much.  I know it will work if I work at it.  That is the trick to work at it.  I am doing my best now.  I don't want to feel as bad as I did last week when I tried on those pants and they were very tight.  Hated it.  Sticking to it.  Thanks for the Lovin...lol
