What can I do? I've tried everything I know and that the doctors have told me. I have been taking 2 stool softeners and fiber pills twice a day, have done enemas, and Milk of Magnesia. I am in terrible pain and can't get anything to work. HELP!!!

Enough fluids in a day is my problem. That said, I KNOW the 64 oz a day of extra liquids is VERY important... for many reasons...one of which I am pretty sure is constipation.
Before my surgery I drank water all the time...most of the time with lemon slices. Now I am so worried about the no drinking before/after a meal for 30 minutes...that I will not get liquids in. And I am not feeling full very long. My band has 2 cc in it now (doc said there was room after surgery so he put the 2 cc in.) How full do we get it the first time. I go in Tuesday. I can not wait. Hope he has time for LOTS of questions!! Good luck to you. Sorry I rambled again!

Are you DRINKING ENOUGH WATER? Try upping you water intake, and see what happens (stop yelling).

Also increase your NATURAL fiber intake. Veggies and fruits can help.

Try (uggggghhh) Prune Juice (you're still yelling)

Make sure you’re taking your vitamins

Increase your exercise (you're yelling again).

If it's still an issue speak to both your Bariatric and Family Doctor. You may need a prescription laxative.

Good Luck on your Journey !!

Thanks all! I was able to finally get all "cleaned out" and now I am water logged, but if that's what it takes I'm ok with that :) I think part of it is the iron in the vitamins.

Suggestion:

(A) Home  - get a cheap stop watch or timer, and set it for 10 to 15 minutes. Each time it goes off take a SIP (mouthful) of water.

(B) Work - set a reoccurring reminder on our OUTLOOK calender to DRINK. Then "snooze" it for 10/15 minutes. Each time it pops up - drink - then hit snooze again. If you don't have Outlook, and your email doesn't have a reminder, get either a stop watch or timer.

Good Luck on your Journey !!

Great ideas Tom! Thanks! Last night before I went to bed I drank A LOT of water at a time...that made me feel really full so I know that was not a good idea! haha. I go for my 2-week post-op dietician appointment today. Tomorrow to the surgeon and the internist. Two weeks have gone by really quickly!
