is it an excuse?
I just need to know, for eating a 1000 cal diet, working out 5 days a week (running, circuit training and zumba) shouldn't the weight be falling off?

I have severe PCOS, and without a doubt, it has slowed/stalled my weight loss. The only time I can get the scale moving in the right direction is to stay on clear liquid diet....but as soon as I start eating (whether protein shakes or food), the scale goes in the opposite direction.
I had been working with a Metobolic specialist, however got disgusted and cancelled my last appt. I plan on making another appointment in the near future to try and get this situation straightened out.
Keep up the good work, and realize that there are other indicators of success and good health other than the the number on the scale.
Good luck :)

While you may be exercising, you may not be taking in enough calories.
A close friend, who is a Certified Fitness Trainer, gave me a valuable lesson concerning losing weight. He gave me some information I found interesting, and thought I’d pass it along. The first thing he said is “You have to EAT in order to lose weight". I know, it sounds strange. He further explained, this does not mean to OVEREAT, but eat sensible portions. That means eat until you feel full (not stuffed).
He explained the body is a marvelous machine, and it will protect itself. If one doesn’t eat enough, the body’s metabolism will slow down - in order to keep it functioning. If a person intake is less then what it expels, the body will start to “store" food. If a person stay on this type of eating regiment over a prolonged period, the body starts to “eat itself" - which is extremely unhealthy and could be fatal.
So you may want to increase your calories – but ….
ADVICE WARNING: TALK TO THE DOCTOR BEFORE INCREASING YOUR INTAKE.

Well, don't give up - it took time to get to this point, it will take more time to get it off.
