Hi! I'm new...
Hi everyone. I am new to this forum. Just wanted to say hi! I am hoping to have my surgery in the next month or so. I'm scared that I'll be the person it DOESNT work on. Nothing I've tried to lose weight has worked, so I am fearful of failure. Anyone else feel like this pre-op? I look forward to getting to know you guys!

Hi Laura,
Welcome to the board. I think we all have a fear of failing another diet. This is totally normal.
Just follow the band rules and do your part and you will succeed. Stay connected to OH this is a great place to be. Good luck on your weight loss journey.

Allow me to add my welcome. I completely understand worrying about failing at yet another weight loss attempt -- I think most of us can relate. Just take it one day at a time and follow your doctor's and nutritionist's guidance and you will do fine. Remember, this is really a lifestyle change and NOT a diet!
Best of luck on your journey -- we're all here to help each other.

WELCOME !! What you feel is quite normal. As mentioned, you need to take it one day at a time. Know there will be some days when you're not "on track" - however if the "on track" days outnumber the "not on track" days - you'll be ahead.
Know we're here for you. And good luck

Got One thing to say with you and I'm sure the rest will agree...Its only a tool meaning it'll only help if you help it. But yes, I do know where you're coming from because I also had these feelings before surgery. As a matter of fact my sister and Husband just flat out told me that it wasn't gonna work..not unless I had the one I didn't want to have which at that time was Gastric bypass. For some reason I was tooo to fearful of that one. So after surgery...I was set out to make it work for my self and to prove my husband and sister badly wrong...so here I am 106 pounds lighter than I was before surgery. If you don't have it done...how will you ever know that it would have worked or not. Best wishes and Best of luck to you in your decision...Keep us updated
