3rd day post-op.
Its my 3rd day post-op (4th if you count surgery day) and I really dont know how I'm feeling. I'm recovering fine from the surgery, over the thoughts of OMG why did I do this, getting in a good bit of my fluids in (which worries me) I just cant seem to stop worring over every liquid I put in my mouth. You hear all these stories from others about not getting enough, getting to much and it just make me wonder if I'm doing something wrong. I dont feel hungry, I dont feel full not sure what im feeling and not sure if this is something to worry about or is it...
any adivce on how to get over this feeling or lack there of would be great.
Erica :)

Erica,
What you are feeling is normal. Don't be too concerned. As for getting TOO MUCH LIQUID, I never heard of such a thing. My Doctor/Nutritionist say to get a MINIMUM of 64 ounces daily (remember decaffeinated, non-carbonated). For me that was never a problem since I drank (and still do) close to a gallon a day.
I had many concerns in the beginning about "the numbers". For ME my Doctor said when it came to numbers they were guidelines. While maybe 4 ounces is recommended, some folks can do 2 while others can do 4.
If you are really concerned, call your Doctor/Nutritionist. That's why they are there. It's best to hear "Oh that's quite normal" than to hear "Why didn't you call me when you first felt/questioned this"

“Nothing I will ever eat will give me the feeling I get as when I lose weight” The views expressed are based on my own experiences - and should NOT BE FOLLOWED IN LIEU OF DOCTOR’S ADVICE/INSTRUCTIONS. Only your Doctor knows your condition, and make sure you talk to them before making any changes to your diet

Hi Erica,
Glad to hear that you are recovering well and I completely agree with Tom. What you are feeling is quite normal. I also was not hungry after surgery and alot of that is because you are still swollen from the surgery. Continue to follow your Dr.'s recommendations, drink your fluid and walk around as much as you can and you will be just fine!
Best wishes to you,
Leslie

My mantra: Each day is an new opportunity to be happier, healthier and better than the day before. I will live each day with enthusiam and be thankful for the many blessings that surround me. I will do my best to pay it forward whenever possible.
It's been a week since my surgery and I have alot of the same feelings, although I am hungry. I asked my doctor about not getting enough fluids in and he said that its normal and it will get easier. It's hard enough for me to "eat" 6 times a day, so trying to fit in more liquids while following the 30 min rule is really a challenge.
Good luck to you :D
