I am happy with my choice, i have a great doc. and yet i get messages telling me i am making the wrong choice. just like on the main forum everyone is against the band/realize. i understand its more work, there can be problems. but for me this works... i don't understand why people would be like that.  everyone is different. i dunno I'm just a Lil pissy right now because of it.   Thank u guys for listening

You are always going to run into people who feel they know what is best for you because their procedure was best for them.  Ignore those people.  You have obviously made an informed decision and know what you are getting into.  You know what is going to happen during surgery and what you are going to have to do in order to make your tool work for you.  Good for you!  For every person who thinks you are making a mistake, there are more out there who are willing to support you.  This forum is flilled with people who only wish good things for you and who are willing to give you advice, when asked.  So, I wish you good luck on your surgery.  You will experience times where you regret your decision, everyone does and it completely normal, but you will realize that you made the right choice for you once you see results.
Best of luck on your journey,
Heather

I agree 110% with Heather. Ignore the people who believe they know what is best for everyone else. I really don't believe that God has gone on vacation and left them in charge!

If one particular surgery were best in all cases, doctors wouldn't offer any others and insurance companies wouldn't cover the other surgeries. I just posted on another thread that the decision to have bariatric surgery and which type of surgery to have is a very personal one -- one that is arrived at in consultation with your surgeon. No one else can tell you what the right decision is for you.

Best of luck on your journey and be sure to come back and lets us know how your surgery went. We're all here for you.

Angelb84,

Here is the truth, no operation is the BEST operation. Each operation has it’s pros and it’s cons. The bottom line, no matter which operation you have – if YOU don’t ADHERE to the rules, you’ll fail.

Only YOU know YOU!! You know what will work for you and what won’t.

If you really have doubts, my advice is three-fold (1) Do more research (2) speak to your Doctor (Nutritionist and/or Psych) and voice your concerns (3) do some deep DEEP soul searching. If you do all this, you'll be very confident in your decision.

And stop looking at all the naysayers!!

Know we’re here for you!!

Good Luck on your Journey !!

Tom
