Friends,
As you know, during OUR journey, protein drinks are a necessary in our life. Consumer reports did a test of some products, and found some "potential concerns" with some Protein drinks.

I am not sending this to you to SCARE you, or have you STOP DRINKING PROTEIN drinks, but just to inform you.
You may want to write to the company of your favorite Protein drink for more details and/or comment. Don’t be surprised if you get the “our product meets all the Federal mandated guidelines when it comes to xxxxxxxxx" rhetoric spiel (just my cynical nature)

“Nothing I will ever eat will give me the feeling I get as when I lose weight” The views expressed are based on my own experiences - and should NOT BE FOLLOWED IN LIEU OF DOCTOR’S ADVICE/INSTRUCTIONS. Only your Doctor knows your condition, and make sure you talk to them before making any changes to your diet
The statement that really caught my attention came at the end of the overview:
"All drinks in our tests had at least one sample containing one or more of the following contaminants: arsenic, cadmium, lead, and mercury. Those metals can have toxic effects on several organs in the body."
I use both Syntrax powders and Special K bottled drinks -- I think I will write to them to see what their comeback is. Heavy metals are nothing to mess around with. I already worry about the mercury in fish since I eat so much of it now.
Thanks for the head-up, Tom.
