6 week platue!!

Ok I had my 3rd fill right before Memorial day and I still haven't lost a pound since my second fill. I know I wasn't doing so well on making good food choices and I stopped writing down my food journal but, after the 3rd fill I have been trying to make good choices and I have more restriction then I did before so, I can't figure out why I am still at a platue. 6 weeks seems like a long time to not lose any weight. I started going to the Y 3 days a week although I missed a week and half do to illness, I thought that would jumpstart my weightloss again. I am getting very fustrated now. I tried staying optomistic and thinking that if I just keep at it the weight will start to come off but, I am at my breaking point! Yesterday I started to do my food journal again and I am going to try adding Zumba once or twice a week next week to try and move the scale but, honestly it if very hard to work at losing and not see any results. I am not losing pounds or inches. I could just scream!
Sorry so long,
needed a rant,

Zumba is a dance arobic activity class they offer at my YMCA. You can get tapes for at home too. It is supposed to be a lot of fun and burn a lot of calories too. I am  hoping I can do it and I won't make too be a fool out of myself
I am sorry your having trouble losing weight and can totally relate. I am going to journal for a couple of weeks and send them to my Nut ans see if she can help me tweek my diet any better.

Sounds like you know what you are doing wrong. Its harsh but true. Also remember no one ever said weight loss would be quick with the band. Its very hard work with only a tiny tool. And don't worry I feel for you too I haven't lost but 2 pounds in 8 weeks and they don't seem to stay off for more than 2 days at a time. But like you I know what i'm doing wrong. I haven't been true to my diet logs and I know I can up my workouts too.

A little tough love – are you following ALL THE RULES? You know what they are!!

If you’re not, that could be the issue .. with that said .. stalls are natural part of weight loss. It seems the body “catches on" to what we have been doing, and holds onto everything. After a while, the lost restarts and things go well.

Stalls are natural part of weight loss. It seems the body “catches on" to what we have been doing, and holds onto everything. After a while, the lost restarts and things go well.

However, stalls can also because by eating (a) too much (b) not enough. I know it sounds a little contradictory, and I will try to explain.

Too much: While we need to make sure we hit our protein requirements (60-80 grams, or whatever your Doctor told you), we need to make sure the carbs, calories, etc are “acceptable". Remember, you don’t want to make your 80 grams of protein by eating 4 gallons of ice cream or a starchy carb.

Not enough: Again, make sure you are meeting your daily protein requirements. THIS IS IMPORTANT TO WEIGHT LOSS. The body is a marvelous machine, and it will protect itself. If one doesn’t eat enough, the body’s metabolism will slow down - in order to keep itself functioning. If a person intake is less then what it expels, the body will start to “store" food

Now, a bit of advice – GET BACK TO THE BASICS!! Pretend you just had the operation, and go back to stages 1 to 4. Do each stage for 3 – 5 days (even a week if you can) and see what happens.

Finally, go and speak to your Nutritionists and/or Doctor. That’s why they are there. Many insurance companies will allow a specific number of nutritional visits per year. You may want to check with them and see if they do.

Good Luck on your Journey !!

Tom

“Nothing I will ever eat will give me the feeling I get as when I lose weight”  The views expressed are based on my own experiences - and should NOT BE FOLLOWED IN LIEU OF DOCTOR’S ADVICE/INSTRUCTIONS. Only your Doctor knows your condition, and make sure you talk to them before making any changes to your diet

Thanks for the advice. I thought I was following the rules about 80 percent of the time. I started tracking my intake a couple of days ago and I the scale actually went down this morning I was 206! That is a new low for me for at least 10 yrs. I know that keeping my food journal is one of the most important things for me to do. I don't know if I could handle the liquid diet again but, if I stop losing again I may have to. I met with my nut the day I got my 3rd fill and she seemed to think I was doing the right things so, it may just be my body adapting like you said and now I have added some exercise and hopefully it will start releasing the weight again now.
Thanks all,
Shrinking Sharon
