advice for third fill - need to feel more full!
I currently have 8cc's in my 11cc realize band, and I have lost 33 pounds in 3 months. I am generally eating well and making good decisions. I feel absolutely no hunger, due in part to Unjury, but I still feel that when I do sit down to a meal, I could eat and eat. I do feel a hint of fullness, but very little, and it immediately disappears. I need to feel fullness at dinner time, my weak meal. Last night, I had pasta for dinner, and I forced myself to stop; the band did not stop me. I am worried that bad habits could creep in.
It is not that I want to feel like I can't eat, but I do want to know that when I need a physical reminder, it is there.
I feel like a failure; how could I already be at 8/11 and still not feel full? Is this going to fail? I have an appt. on Tuesday; do I ask him to fill me more? Could 1 cc make a real difference here?
Please give me some advice. Thanks.
My Dear...33 pounds in 3 months is AWESOME!!!!!!! There is no way that you should think of yourself as a failure...in fact you should be thinking the complete opposite. Without having restriction you ARE doing it and at a greater pace than alot of people with good restriction.
You are loosing on average 2.75 pounds a week....WOOO HOOOO. Be proud of yourself...you are doing an incredible job.
Please don't beat yourself up. It took me 5 fills to feel really good restriction. I am at 9cc in my 11cc Realize Band and now I fully understand what they mean by 'the sweet spot'.
You are really doing a fantastic job and you should give yourself a pat on the back.
Best wishes to you,
Leslie

Make sure you are following the eating rules. No liquids 30 minutes before/after and during meals. Eat the recommend amount of protein – protein is the key to feel full. Make sure you are eating protein first, followed by veggies and lastly GOOD carbs. Eat slowly – make each meal take 30 minutes. Studies have shown it takes 25 minutes for the stomach to tell the brain it’s full.
Finally SPEAK TO YOUR DOCTOR OR NUTRITIONISTS. They are suppose to guide you. When I first had the operation I noticed that 4 ounces of protein wouldn’t keep me full but 6 did. I spoke to my Doctor about this, and he said FOR ME if those 2 ounces meant the difference between success and failure, have those 2 extra ounces. He also explained while I may be eating more than “suggested" I was still eating less than I was – so losing weight was going to continue. Again each Doctor is different, so speak to them.

“Nothing I will ever eat will give me the feeling I get as when I lose weight” The views expressed are based on my own experiences - and should NOT BE FOLLOWED IN LIEU OF DOCTOR’S ADVICE/INSTRUCTIONS. Only your Doctor knows your condition, and make sure you talk to them before making any changes to your diet
