13 hours post-op- HELP!

I'm 13 hours post-op. It's 3:30 am.. and I'm in severe pain! My incisions are sore, and this gas pocket is just excruciating.  I'm not one for dramatics, but this is unbearable! All I have is liquid Tylenol w/ codine.  Is there anyone out there with any good news?

Hope you're more comfy by now...the more you move around the better you will feel.

Take care and good luck :)

I agree...GasX and walk walk walk.  It really does get better.
Hang in there!
Best wishes to you.

I think you've gotten some great advice above.

Just wanted to say hang in there...i know for me the first 48 hours were rough in terms of gas.  But then it subsided, especially as I was able to move around a lot more.

Hang in there it gets better a little bit day by day, then all the sudden you will realize (not pun intended) that you feel better. Walk, walk, walk. The gas-x strips did nothing for me, but the chewy rolaids helped. Chew until they are liquid.

I hope you feel better soon. :)

By the way. Ask your doc for liquid vicotin. Take that during the day and tylenol pm at night. You will feel much better.

Thank you all for your interest! 3 days later, you're right. It got much better. Walking was so key, as was the gas-x. I'm sleeping better too.

i'm starting to really hate jell-o and clear liquids! i think i'm head hungry, but then i think my stomach is growling... it's a real learning process to honor your body.
