Everyone's favorite...constipation!
I went 1.5 weeks after surgery before having a BM...dairy IS constipating, especially if you are having more than a cup of it a day (as most of us do with the protein drinks) I make sure to eat LOTS of fiber-- refried beans, hummus, cooked spinach helps me a lot, too. Also pureed peaches, pears. Make sure to get your veggies in, and add a tablespoon or two of olive oil to the veggies so you do get some of the needed fat. Hydration is, of course, very important, too.
I've had problems with constipation my entire life, being hospitalized for impaction twince. BUT since surgery I haven't had that severe of a problem...so it IS possible to handle it. I'm not taking miralax or anything, either....just handling it with foods.
Good luck!
