I am such a slow learner

Since my fill 2 wks ago, if I eat too fast, I get stuck and have to throw up. I have every intention of eating slowy when I start, but somehow it's never slow enough or small enough bites. I don't feel that my band is too tight, and I totally get the concept of restricition now...however I could use some ideas on how some of you successfully slow it down so you can enjoy your meal and not have this issue.
Thanks :)
Thanks :)
Use a stopwatch. I do. I put a piece of food in my mouth, chew it 30 times, swallow and wait one minute until I put another piece of food in my mouth. Friends and family have come to accept it, and for those who don't - eFn them. I do what is needed to be successful
Good Luck on your Journey !!

I am notorious for learning the hard way. There is a joke in our family that if there is a hard way to do something, I will find it. However, I know I have to conquer this one or really suffer, so I've been trying to train myself by using an infant spoon and an antique shellfish fork. Sometimes I use a toddler fork, but find I can really load that puppy up! I figure about the first time I get stuck I'll learn! You can't trick ME more than about 5 or 6 times!
It's all a learning experience. When you get another fill you will find foods that you ate 2 days before that fill now getting stuck. It's crazy but wonderful at the same time. Remember to eat slow and really focus.
Most of the times that I've gotten food stuck is when I'm having dinner with the kids...they add stress and I eat too fast. I don't eat with them anymore...I will sit at the table but not eat (shhhh! maybe I have a glass of wine). We still have our dinner conversations but I'm more at peace just stilling with them and watching them eat.
Crazy but before my band I could have never just sat there and watched them eat without going nuts. I can't eat leftovers heated up in the microwave...it always gets stuck. Not sure if the food gets dried out or just chewy. Everyone is different with the food they can tolerate. Good luck on your food quest!
