Liver shinking liquid diet
I scheduled for surgery April 19th, today is day 8 of liquid diet and I woke up just starving. I drank a unjury chocolate shake and had a lot of gas then had a Atkins shake for lunch and had the same amount of gas. Has anyone else had this problem? Is it because I'm not eating anything else?
I did brake down and have 2 oz of tuna tonight to get rid of the hunger pains. I just hope I still lose by my final appt on Wednesday.

I had my surgery on April 8th, my BMI is very high and my liver fatty, but my doctor did not require a liquid diet prior to the surgery. All went well with my surgery and no complications. Today has been my first really hungry day when jello, and shakes just aren't cutting it, so I understand how you feel. Good Luck and keep us posted!
Congrats on your scheduled surgery !! Can't wait to see you on the Loser's Bench in our winner's circle.
As for gas - WELCOME TO THE CLUB. Since the operation I have been a human tuba. A lot has to do with the extra protein we're taking in. Also I eat a lot of "gassy" vegetables (ex. cauliflower).
One bit of advice - after the operation don't trust your "gas". What may feel like a gas may easily become a liquid or solid - if you get my drift (and if you do, stand down wind )
