OK, I know every one drops weight at different rates and that the average weight loss over the first year is 40% of one's excess weight...but...I just want to hear what YOU experienced!

What was YOUR weightloss the first month? the first 2 months? First 6 months? First year?

I have 120lbs to drop...but on the "before and after" slide show I don't see a single person who has lost more than 80lbs...this is, obviously, kind of discouraging. So I want to hear from REAL people (not that those fine folks are fakes...) and hear your stories.

:)
THANKS!!

My weight loss has been called remarkable. On my two week review I lost 17 pounds. On my one month review I lost an additional 30 pounds, for a total of 47 pounds. On my three month review I lost an additional 28 pounds. On July's weigh-in, I lost a total of 100 pounds. On February 28 (2009) - 1 year mark , I lost a total of 150 pounds.

The amount of weight lost is affected by many factors. Everyone loses weight at different rates. It has to do with age, gender, one’s weight, exercise, etc.. A 10 pound lost to one person could be as affected as a 40 pound lost to another. Think of it this way: If a 400-pound person loses 40 pounds; a 300-pound person loses 30 pounds, a 200-pound person loses 20 pounds, and a 100-pound person loses 10 pounds – the 400-pound person didn’t necessarily lose more weight than the others. All three lost 10% of their body weight.
Many folks are hung up on the number. It’s not the number of pounds that someone loses in a specified period of time that is important. It’s how you feel.

Also there are other ways you can use to monitor your success: your constant hunger reduction (eliminated); reduced clothing size; increase energy; re-familiarizing yourself to body-parts unseen for years (errr… toes) ; “common" activity becoming easier (walking, climbing steps), just feeling good about yourself; sleeping better (reduced snoring); the mirror; better medical exam results (lower cholesterol and/or blood pressure); etc
Good Luck on your Journey !!

Thanks Tom! That is fantastic! Was 150lbs the total amount of excess weight you had to lose?

I was 435 when I started. My Doctor has no goal for me, but I picked 220 - why .. got me. Always felt a guys 6-2 should be 220. I am down to around 245, in just a little over 2 years. Will I ever hit that 220, got me - but I am happy where I am - and trying to obtain my goal.

Remember with a band you're expect to loose 40 to 60% of your EXCESS BODY weight. So take me, the "high end" "normal" weight for a "large frame" male is 197 pounds. 435 - 197 = 238. 60% of that weight is 143 lbs. So the expected target weight I should be is 292. I've lost almost 80% of my excess body weight. I can be done.
Good Luck on your Journey !!

After two years I am losing about 1 to 5 pounds a month. That's between 12 and 60 pounds in a year !! I'LL TAKE THAT !!

To be perfectly honest, as long as the scale doesn't go up - I'M A WINNER!!
Good Luck on your Journey !!
