Hello everyone! I wanted to drop in and say hello!. I have lost 10lbs already (according to my scale at home) I am so excited about getting health and having all this support to keep me on track.

I had a question to ask too. I only have 2 incisions, my top one is doing great but the one right above my belly button hurts on the left side alot. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced that. I have my first doctors appointment today so I am going to aks them also.
I was also wondering how long it took you to not feel any pain when you were sitting. I have a desk job and go to school and it is really hard to sit for any long length of time. I try to get up and move at least once an hour but sometimes that is just not feasible. Any help?

Wow, you only have two incisions?  I had my surgery on 3/4/10 and have 5 incisions.  Not pretty to look at, but I never was going to wear a bakini.  Anyway, best of luck on your recovery and welcome to the Losers Bench.

Two incisions is great! I have 4. I am sure you have gotten an answer about your incision pain. I was banded 3/2/10 and happy to welcome you to the losers bench.

Thanks for all the great welcomes! I am excited to be here!

I glad to see so many people who are longer time Banders and Happy there a quite a few newbies like me!

Sharon and Heather your weight lose is amazing! I officially lost 8.5 lbs according to the doctor in my first week, my scale at home says 10.2, I think I like mine better . I am starting my mushy foods today. I was afraid it was going to slow my weight loss down but you guys give me hope!!

Good luck and wishing you much success!  I had pinchy port pain in that incision, but it went away after a couple of weeks.

Welcome to being a bandster! Thats cool you only got 2 incisions I myself got 5. I call them my fab 5! lol This is just the begining of your journey and you will learn so much about yourself in the process. I am still a newbie myself and everyday I learn more about how my band works and how to be successful in my goals. I was banded in Dec and although christmas wasn't what it used to be. All my banded friends said I was crazy to mess up christmas, my thought was I will have a brand new life and every christmas I will be thankful I did it and didn't wait. So welcome and I am glad your doing so well, my scale was about 2 or 3 pounds diffrent from the docs also. If you every need anything everyone here is pretty awesome. Take care!

Good job and congratulations!

I am on post-op Day 9 and I had 5 stitches. I agree, it is hard to sit for too long. I have a desk job as well and my doctor is allowing me to take off a little longer than we initially thought...yay!! I can also work some from the comforts of home, so that helps too! Last night, I had a class and after about 2 1/2 hours, I had about all I could do to sit still any longer...I get up and walk and walk.

I still have some post-op pain but I am on just Tylenol now, so that is good I think. I am sure your site that is by your belly button is your where your port is. Mine is on my right side and is still quite tender but...last night...I actually slept on that side and even on my stomach...yay! Now, that is progress!

Continued good luck to you...each day will get better! We can do this!

Connie

Everything happens for a reason so, I am taking it a step at a time. I can do it!
