Hello All! I have some questions to ask....First, how do you know if your band has slipped? What are the signs and symptoms? Second, I’m having some weird pains near the port. I have the pains when I wake up and sometimes during/ after I eat. I’m hoping this is just weird pains that will go away soon. Thank you!   Elyse

I have some odd pains around my port also.  I thought maybe it was the new exercises I was doing.   How long have you been banded?   I've been banded for only 2 months.

i have only been banded about 2.5 months and i was just a little worried about the pain. I hope it goes away soon! I did start the gym, so I hope that is the pain.

Thank you for responding!

I have been having weird pains too.  Not neccesarily at port site but side middle of abdomen and down lower, all on my left side.  My port is in the center.

My doc didn't know what it was from but said it shouldn't be nor sounds like it is from the band or port.

I think mine is from working out.  I was banded about 2.5 mo ago and have been working out HARD since about 1 mo out.  I also had some major recovery issues that set me back too.  So I think at times I pu**** too much.

I think if you just started working out then you may be having normal soreness from getting your body to do something it was previously not used to.

It should get better.  Mine have eased up but they do pop back up here and there.  I have yet to find a direct correlation with a certain activity/exercise.

My cohort just had her band replaced due to a slippage, it had also adhered to something else in her abdominal cavity. Weird, I know. Any who, she is a year out from surgery but always maintained that the least bit of a fill would give her too much restriction so she had to avoid most solid foods and she would end up projectile vomiting like the girl on the exorcist and she would have alot of acid reflux and pain in the upper chest area so those were great indications that she had a slippage but even still, it took a second look for them to notice that a slippage was indeed her problem. Go figure!!!!!

Left the band and rocking with RNY.
They say I have an eating disorder but I say, I have my eating in order.
