Reasoning behind some rules

I'm allowed to have egg whites the 1st two weeks. Why just the whites? Is it purely cut out the part that tastes good because there's no real nutrition there? Or will it be harmful in some way I can't imagine? One normal scrambled egg would be great right now.

It is really what each person is able to tolerate and each Dr can have different guidelines. I did a scrambled egg about 3 weeks post op, just be sure it is thinned down with skim milk so that it will be easier to swallow, I always had great luck with eggs but know people that have struggled with them, trial and error is the key!
