Help!!
I was banded two weeks ago and have been on liquids for three weeks now counting my pre-op diet. I stuck to the liquids just as I was told and I am suppose to start my soft diet tomorrow. For the past 4 or 5 days I have been wanting to eat everything in sight. I'm not feeling hungry--I just want to eat! So today I gave in and started my soft diet a day early--except everything I ate was not "soft" --like 4 cookies!!! After I did this I was thinking to myself---I can't beleive I just did that!!! I guess I just lost it! I told myself that I will just start with a clean slate tomorrow and not to beat myself up to bad about it but I am. I guess I am just scared of failing again tomorrow like I have always done in the past. Please tell me I'm not the only one who has lost it before!!
However-jumping to cookies right after surgery, that can't be good for the healing process. You've taken a giant step in the right direction which tells me you can do this.
I'm two weeks post surgery also and I know the feeling. Seems like every commercial is taunting me with food. I found increasing my liquid intake really helped me curve my appetite. Next time you get the urge - reach for a drink - wait 30 minutes and see if its gone.
Good Luck.
