Using a pillow after surgery

I have seen it suggested to bring a pillow for the ride home from the hospital to hold against your abdomen as a "splint".  How do you use it, and what is better,  fluffy pillow or a flatish one?

I just held the pillow firmly on my abdomen. Some people put the pillow between the seatbelt and their abdomen for comfort. I found that a firmer, thicker pillow was best for me. Best of Luck.

Hi..

YES! I pillow is a must. I have a little pillow my sister had made me months ago, and I've kept it with me since surgery.  I sleep with it on my left side, where my largest incision is. I find it brings me comfort literally and emotionally.  If you remember, and you stay overnight, taking your own pillow for your stay in the hospital just makes you that more comfortable.
