I'm finally approved and I'm scheduled for 3/9/10.  I have some final appointments to make but that should be it.  I'm happy about being approved but still a bit nervous.  I know I'm not suppose to drink soda and have only drank one cup since the new year but what about coffee?  What else should I be doing to prepare before my final appointments?  Thanks for any help you can provide.

Congrats, you will be on the loseing bench real soon. I was scared to death when I got approved and tickled to death at the same time lol. Weird huh.
It is a piece of cake, believe me. It is well worth doing. You will be uncomfortable for a couple of days but nothing you cant handle.
I had mine done on Sept. 24th. I have lost 34 lbs so far. I guess that's kinda slow, but that's what I want. I need 4 lbs off to get out of the terrible 2's. That is 200's. lol. I will do it maybe this week. It will feel good to say I weigh 1 something lol.
Good Luck again on your approval.......................................

And I am going in the right direction finally.
I gave up my soda, but I am still drinking my coffee. I think they want us to drink the decaf, but I am on the full leaded coffee lol.
And I drink a lot of crystal light, and sugar free kool'aid too.
I am not much on veggies so I will drink the spicy V-8 juice also. One bottle makes me two servings of veggies. yeah.

Thanks...
I never thought about V-8, that could be a healthy drink and if I add a bit of unflavored protein powder that wouldn't hurt.

Thanks again and I can't wait to be on the losers bench!!!

I was happy and nervous at the same time but this surgery has given me my life back and i will do it again and again. You will see the confidence levels go sky high you will have so much to do and a lot of joy doing it. Cogratulations.

I, too, am where you are.  I was approved the week before last and am scheduled for 3/4/10.  Right now I am anxiously awaiting the date, but I know as the day gets nearer I will start to get nervous.  My next few weeks are full of appt.'s and tests, so I'll be pretty busy, as I'm sure you are, too.
Congrats on your date and best of luck.  Looking forward to reading your updates once you have the surgery and start losing.  Hope to see you on the losers bench soon.

Morning Lady's I'm in the same boat.  Was approved last Friday and have a surgery date of (2/18/10).  I have to say I'm pretty at piece with it right now.  Come Feb 17th that may be a different story.  Have two more appointments to go to before hand.  As for the changes before the surgery, I have given up soda ( :-( ) and caffeine.  Also starting to do the no drinking of water while eating (this one is harder).  Keep me updated on how you are doing.

Congrats on your approval and giving up the soda and the caffeine.  I haven't thought about not drinking while eating.  Your date is approaching soon and I wish you the best.  Did you have to go on a two week liquid diet?  I will have to do Optifast for two weeks prior to surgery and I hope and pray that I can make it through that.  Please keep me posted...

No I'm on a low Carb (30g or less) diet.  I go in for my pre-op appointment next Wednesday (2/10) so they may tell me then I have to go on a liquid diet at that point.  I have been on a all liquid diet before and after the first couple of days it gets easier.  The main thing is to try to stay away from the foods and situations that will make you want to cheat.

Ween yourself off of caffeine (soda/coffee).

Make sure you know what you're suppose to eat/drink after the operation (immediately, days, weeks, months)

Know we're here for you anytime :D
Good Luck on your Journey !!

Tom
