Hello
I was able to sleep on my side within a couple of days. I didn't have that much pain. I was off pain meds completely within 3 days.
I have never been able to feel my port. Unless, I purposely press down in the area where my port is. Otherwise, I can't feel it. I heard when you lose a lot of weight it bcomes more visable.
Good luck

I too was able to start sleeping on my side after a week, I did have a lot of port pain but Dr. said it was normal. But I attempted to go back to work after 5 days not a great idea, so I think that set me back a few days/to a week in recovery time.
But after two weeks I was feeling great and could hardly feel my port, now depending upon what I do I can feel some twinges and my port, but its not unbearable just a strange feeling.

I was able to sleep on both sides immediately after surgery ??? It was midly uncomfortable for the first 3-4 days post surgery but that is how I sleep so I did it anyways. :)
I can't feel my port at all. I asked my surgeon about it and she said it is under layers of fat right now so I won't be able to really feel it until I lose quite a bit of weight.
