I'm in sweet spot heaven!!!

Hello

I'm just writing because I was so discouraged.  I am ten months out and I was not losing weight.  Fill after fill after fill and still nothing.  I kept waiting for this sweet spot restriction but it never would happen.

THEN...on January 8th I went in for my 7th fill.  I am at 9.8 ccs.  I knew within days that I had really good restriction.  I can't eat a lot...I am never ever hungry.  I eat probably 600-800 calories a day and I'm absolutely stuffed.  I eat cause I have to not because I want to.  It's a wonderful feeling.
Food no longer has control over me.

So here it is two weeks after my last fill and I am down 13 pounds!!!  Woohoo!!!.  It took so long for me to get this point.  I never thought I would get to this point and I was losing hope.  I just wanted to say to those of you out there that are struggling and losing hope that it does get better.  Just be patient it will happen for you too.  Good luck....

wow! good for you! I read all of these stories on this web site.........I am not banded yet and it makes you wonder or 2nd guess your decision sometimes, it's great to hear an uplifting story, so it took you 7 fills to get there. I was just wondering how many of these surgeries has your doctor done? To me, now understand I haven't had this done yet.....if a doctor knows your size, he knows your insides where it is banded, that he would know on an average how much a person can take to get to that place of perfection without 7 sessions. I'm sure there is more to it than that, I know everyone is different. I'm just sayin'.....

Glad to hear your good news! I've been fortunate to have gotten off to great start and its still going. I finally got restriction this past week off my 3rd fill or so I hope. I've gotten it in the past and it seemed to have left just as fast. I thinks its here for good this time. I'll just be keeping my fingers crossed in the meantime.

Left the band and rocking with RNY.
They say I have an eating disorder but I say, I have my eating in order.

That is so awesome!!! This is very encouraging to hear. I just went for a fill two thursdays ago and since then, I feel like I have no restriction anymore. It was like the little restriction I did have is gone, so I'm gonna schedule another appt and go have another one. Do you have Lap Band or Realize Band?

Thanks again!! I'm glad I read you post!!!

I am so happy for you!!! I am 11 months out and got a fill about 2-3 weeks ago and I'm feeling so much better now. I am finally for once eating very small portions with sometimes only being a couple of bites. I had also given up hope about losing weight and I had actually started gaining weight. I have finally made it to that point to where I eat because my stomach is growling and not because my head tells me to eat and I agree it is a wonderful feeling. I don't have any scales at home, but I do go back to the Dr in about 2 weeks to get weighed. I am so excited to see if I have lost any. I did put on a size smaller jeans yesterday BUT they were made with stretch so idk if that counts or not lol.. The main thing is I'm feeling so much better and can already breath better. Thanks for giving me some inspiration and keep us updated. I now have hope that I might lose some this month after being banded for 11 months. Take Care!

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!! THANK YOU! I so needed to hear this. I am 6 months out, with 4 fills, about 6ccs in my band and still eat as much as before surgery. I have lost about 22lbs in the 6 months but most of it was pre-op. I have been SOOOO discouraged, and actually talked to my dr. about revision surgery to bypass. He swears in time it will work, but i didnt really believe him, but i believe you. I am so happy to hear this. Can you explain what it feels like at the sweet spot?? I get stuck, and sometimes I think that's what I am supposed to feel, but i can keep on eating as soon as it slows down. THanks and congrats!
