I havent posted in a while because my computer crashed. But im back!!

I have a question...have any of you done weigh****chers or nutrisystem after surgery?? Im in college and the food they have here...well...its college food lol not the healthiest!

I was thinking of cancelling my meal plan here and ordering the food from nutrisystem (or something of the sort). What do you all think? How do I know which program is best?

Hope you are  doing well on your journey!

I dieted 2 years of college and you can do it, if you really want to.  It's really good to learn how to start making the smarter choices because you need that for long term success.  I didn't diet with the band at college though, so I can see how that would add another element to it, but my cafeteria was pretty awesome in regards to food choices and such, they have come such a long way in regards to variety and options.

However, if you think you need something like nutrisystem to get you through, then by all means try it out and do it.  We all need to find what works for us.  The thing with Nutrisystem is that you won't be able to live on that and even if you do it a few months, you still will have to go back to living and learning how to eat healthy and stick to the better foods we need.  I did Nutrisystem with my mom a few years ago and I didn't care for the food at all and I gained back what I lost soon after stopping it, I just think it's unpracticle.  Again, if it works for you and gets you through the remainder of your semester at college until summer, then order some.

If you've never done Weigh****chers, that might be a great option for you too because you'd have the weekly weigh in's, support groups and they are great at teaching you about a new healthy lifestyle and choices, versus just diet diet diet.  Look into it.

College was so hard with eating and drinking, good thing is you are probably walking a lot.  :)  Good luck, you will figure it out!!!  :)

Thanks for the advice. I'm going to mention it to my dr today. (I'm going for a fill.)

I could def just go out and buy food on my own and cook at school. I mean, when I have t he money and it's not my dad doing the shopping, I get all the healthy things with tons of protein.

Im just nervous about not having enough money to buy myself food while at school. That, and the fire alarms are SOOO sensitive, hair straighteners set them off. lol

Again, thanks for your advice.

Good luck to you!  It really surprises me that at a college campus there are not some really healthy food options.  But, maybe Nutrisystem food or Jenny Craig can help you.  I havent done those programs but I did do Weigh****chers many times.  WW isnt bad and will help you with support group meetings and weigh-ins...

3cc on 12/10/09, 0.8cc on 1/25/10, 1.0 cc on 3/15/10, 1.0 cc on 4/28/10, 0.2 cc on 6/16/10, 0.7 cc on 8/26/10, 0.8 cc on 10/15/10, 1.0 cc on 3/17/11 and 0.3 cc on 6/9/11.  8.8 cc in my 11cc band

Hi I tried Nutrisystem, It was ok for about 2 months, then I couldnt eat the food. Its really bad some of it. And It is really exspensive also. I stuck to it anyway for about 5 months , I lost about 14 lbs. Then I quit and gained it all back plus more. I now am Banded with the realize Band since Sept. 24th . I love my Band. It keeps me in control of what and how much I should eat. I am losing slow but I am losing that is all that matters to me.
good luck with whatever you decide is best for you.

I just recently started weigh****chers in the beginning of Jan. Me and my friend who got our band put in the same time started it.  I have to say we have been more successful with doing so.  It helps you get in the right amount of food and it's easier to stay on track.  Plus you can always use the smart ones meals and they are a perfect size to fill you up and to keep you full now that my band is very tight I am able to get most of it down and it takes me a long time.  If you wanna try it I have a really good coupon just and I will forward it to you.  If you join you get no registration and 20 dollars off the first month.  If your not sure that's what you wanna do then I suggest just paying week by week to see if it's what you want to do. But good luck girlie!!
