Have any of you ever thrown up blood?

I had my surgery in July of 2008.  Monday I cooked a roast in the crock pot. It was really good...and tender so I decided to have some of it today.  I chewed and chewed but I guess something got stuck and I had to throw it up.  When I did, there was blood in it.  Not a whole lot but enough to scare me. I called the doctor and they said to just have liquids for 24 hours and that I had probably just irritated my stomach. Have any of you ever had that happen???  I'm scared! 

Nope never had that happen but I can certainly understand being scared.  If the doctor isn't concerned than I wouldn't worry about it.   

This can be serious if it continues.  Most likely it is just a one time happening.  If not have your doctor check for Mallory-Weiss syndrome.
