I saw my nutritionist yesterday for the 1rst time since my surgery. All is going really good. I saw her the 1rst week of December and i weighed in at 271. Yesterday i was down to 246.5! some of the weight loss was pre surgery but 17.5 lbs are from post op.  I am really happy with my results so far. I  have been sticking to my meal plan like crazy. I measure everything and right it down. Starting on Monday i can start my new phase of food i can't  wait. I just hope i can keep this dedication going. I just started working out. i have been trying to walk on the treadmill for 1 hour at least 5-6 days per week. This week i have noticed that i have a lot more energy,  Being a couch potato is not as interesting anymore. I have too much energy to just stay sitting down for long periods at a time. In the past in could sit for hours jus****ching tv. On the 25th, i see my surgeon and i should know when i am having my 1rst fill. The main reason i got this surgery was for my health. I have had high blood pressure for about 4 years and diabetes for 1.5 years. Diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, and strokes run in my family and i wanted to do something to break the cycle for me. Since the surgery i have not needed my metformin and i have been off one of the high blood pres. meds. Yadira

My starting weight back in May 2009 when i started getting reading for my surgery was 296-298 lbs. The friday before surgery my weight was 264lbs.

I wish you the best of luck on your surgery. So far i am really glad that i did it. I am coming to realize that it will take a conscious effort everyday to motivate myself to stick with making the best choices for me. The temptations are there but i try to do my best at ignoring them. Everyday i have one of 2 choices-1. take the easy way out or 2. make every effort to make all the right choices. The first step is always the hardest.Since today was Friday i almost decided not to go for my daily treadmill walk since i was tired from the long week but i made myself go. It was hard making myself go to my apt's gym but once i once i was there and i started the walking, the one hour went by fast. I realized it was not as painful. Stay positive and i look forward to hearing about your success. Yadira
