my port

I went for a fill yesterday expecting the always piece of cake appt. I usually go in and within mins I've received my fill and I'm out the door. He just pushes on my stomach, sticks then I'm done. He has NEVER had trouble finding my port not one time. It's always been easy for him. Now yesterday was a different story. He was like bare with me I can't find it and he just kept mashing and mashing harder and harder. I know he was just doing his job and he is a sweetheart but I have to admit it sure didn't feel too good. He stuck me for what seemed like 5 mins straight and I felt like a pin cushion. There at the end he was like I think I found it so hopefully he did. My question is has anyone ever had this problem before? I just don't understand why it's always been so easy and this time was so hard. I noticed when I got home and looked at my band aid it's not in the same place as it usually is. Does this mean something is wrong with my port? Could it have fallen inside? I know some people have had their port flip on them. Just wondering if I should be worried about this. Thanks for taking the time to read my post. I am having my first fill today and I hope it is not that. I do not feel my port. I hope that he can find it with no problem. I wonder why he did not send you to Flouro and check if he was not sure. I do not like guessing. My ins co only allows so many office visits so I would like to make sure each one counts. Neet

Don't worry about today because I'm sure it will be a piece of cake. I've always had smooth easy fills until yesterday. He really thought that he got it so hopefully he knows what he is talking about. My Dr has never mentioned anything about Flouroscope so I'm no sure if they do that or not. Let me know how your fill goes. I'll be thinking about ya today :)

well for those of you who would like to know... I know for a fact that he has found my port. I am now eating my soup and I can't hardly get it down. I got down some soup this morning but not right now so I can for sure tell I'm tighter. I'm at 7cc's right now and the last time I was at 7cc's he had to take a cc out because I was too tight. Keeping my fingers crossed.

I'm not sure but you should ask him why that happened, just so you know.  I hope you go the fill you think you did.  :)

I know Boo.. I am hoping I got the fill too. I am really thinking I did because I can't hold as much as I could before I went that is for sure. Not sure if it's all in my mind or what lol. I guess we will find out when I try to eat "real" food in the next few days.

Sounds promising!!!  How are the real foods going?

They are going pretty good. I ate a piece of chicken breast and I had to chew it really well for it to go down and I was full after that but I had ate something else later on, I can't remember what it was now, but I remember it not filling me up. I just hope this isn't all in my head and that the fill really did take. I guess I will know more with each day that passes. I still can't help but wonder if my port has really flipped because I just can't get over how far off that band aid was from were my port really is. He stuck me about 3 inches down from where he did last time. He's a wonderful Dr so I don't think it was his fault at all, I just wonder why my port has "fell" inside me or whatever it's done lol...

Well, if he thinks it took and you are noticing some restriction, it probably did.  So, try to rest assured and maybe you can find out more at your next appointment. 

Our heads can play games on us, for good and bad.  lol

Maybe your just sooo skinny that it was harder to find? 

Anyway I hope your reaching your Sweet spot and it's not like that the next time.
