I am being lazy and want the band to do it for me- RNY is gastric bypass and when you have that done, it basically does everything for you. That's what i need, I just can't control my eating or I wouldn't have needed surgery

It's so difficult to go through a slow weight loss. I have to tell myself everyday it's ok that I am not loosing 5 lbs a week or however much anyone else is.  I know for me I loose slow.  I know I will get there eventually. I already feel better and I know in the long run it's will be worth it.

It's frustrating when everytime I see my grandmother she ask's me how much weight I've lost.. even if it's the day after I saw her last!  She's 89.  But I have to give myself a pep talk about every day at this point.   It seems like everyone is looking at you to see how much you've lost and to see if the surgery was "worth it".

But knowing we are not alone and listening to everyone's advice and encouragement is so wonderful.  The support helps so much!

Keep up the good work and to everyone have a great New Year!

I think 19 pounds is great! the rest will follow I'm sure. But just curious how come no fill until Feb? I got my band on 12/8 and I go for my first fill on 1/8? Which I guess all doctors are different... I didn't really expect a fill yet but went to my appt yesterday and they told me that my appt for the fill was next week.

Hi there....I know I was so pissed to find out that the fills are  only done after 2 months. although I thought is was done 30, 60 and 90....I think my dr. is very concervative about the fills...I am so hoping that in FEb. I will get enough fill to make a difference.....Did you find a difference with you first fill and how it is determined how much to fill...You tell the doc, or he just puts in  the standard 1cc....have a happy and healthy new year.   noelle

I'm not sure about the fills I go for my first one next Friday. I will be exactly one month out when I get the first fill, I will let you know how it goes. My doctor said that typically he does the first at 4 weeks, the second at 12 weeks but if I feel like I need it before the 12 week mark let him know and he will do it sooner.  I wish you luck! New Year and it is giong to be a new us!!!!!
