Well, if you feel it happening...do not wait to see how bad it's gonna get.  Start taking something right away and avoid what I am now going through.  I really hope you don't get constipated, maybe you'll be a lucky one!  :)

Well, I got the colace and that stuff is expensive.  It's doing the same as the dulcolax did for me.  I just got the stool softeners, and it has been keeping me regular but it just hurts down there so I am hoping I haven't done something.  :(  I don't know whats going on.

Like the rest of you I too have been experiencing the bouts of constipation that seem to come hand in hand with the band. I believe due to our high protein diet and not getting in the high amounts of fiber through foods we don't get the daily trips to the loo as normally would happen. I've been taking benefiber tabs and well as dulcolax but my doctor's office has suggested getting in psyllium husks as a fiber additive to drinks and / or yogurts. That's probably another avenue to check into and perhaps try.

Good luck and hoping we all have happy bowels very soon.

I've been trying to do yogurts more. I  "like" yogurt, but I can just never get in a yogurt routine.

I have been feeling MUCH MUCH better since my original post.  I am taking one or two colaces a day (same as dulcolax) and eating one to two bananas a day.  I read that bananas were good for constipation and while I wi**** was a healthier fruit I had to get my derriere feeling good again.  It has worked wonders.  I am going like once a day now.  I also just opened the Metamucil Free and Clear poweder, it's unflavored.  I put one teaspoon in my protein shake this morning and I couldn't even tell.  I just put one teaspoon in a cup of water and couldn't tell, so hopefully that will help too.

Man, I hope eventually our bodies do adjust and it's not so much work.  LOL  As if we are not counting and doing enough stuff all ready.  lol   Not to mention, this is so embarrasing to talk about.
