Scared, Nervous, Anxious

From the one time I met him, I liked him.  He was very candid with you which I liked.  That is nice that you are so close to their too, I feel so bad for so many people who live hours away.  I guess that is one benefit of our part of the state.  I feel like mine is a just a hop away too.  I go back Thursday and am getting my first fill...I should have last month but didn't think I needed it.  I have days where I am really hungry and then days where I am not so I keep flipping.  I think I am just going to get one, that is why I got the band, right?  Right.  :)

Your other senses do pick up when on the liquids.  The first two days were hard, but it got easier.  I though being about 10 days post op it started to wear on me the most, but by that point you are getting so close to the soft foods, real food is in sight.  lol  That is when you truly experience head hunger.  I remember the first week of real foods and I was 100% stuffed, but it drove me crazy I couldn't eat more.  It has passed though and I'm handling it, but it was shocking to me how hard that head game could be to master.

Boo...Good Luck on your fill...I find that daunting as well as everything else.
They changed the rules on the post op diet...I think you are only on liquid for a week before moving onto the next step...At least that is how I understood it at Pre Admission...but I in shell shock I think by the time the nutritionist started talking to me...
And I am reading, reading, reading...What is head hunger...like hallucinations?
So I am plugging along on this liquid diet...6 more days...I think I am going to treat myself to a new robe and nightgown for the hospital stay...
But first I have to concentrate on cleaning my house for next week...one room at a time.

Head hunger is when you are NOT hungry and are full but still want to keep eating!

hi kim,,I am having my surgery as well on 11/24..however i still have to  have my endoscopy and still haven't found out with my insurance...I am so nervous that my insurance won't some thru in time...I have empire bc/bs of new york..do you have any info on this insurance comp and how fast they approve....also...i have not been told to start a liquid diet yet....what surgeion are you going to...i am having dr. abkin do mine....hey listen,,,good luck to youa nd God Bless.

I have a friend who had bc/bs of Michigan and she was approved in a couple days. I have heard they are all different though.   I am sure it will all go through fine.  I was most stressed over the Insurance approval during all the pre-op months.  I got so scared I was so ready and got there and it wouldn't happen.  I am sure yours will go through fine too!  Keep us posted.

Well, not really for that procedure as I didn't need one.  I can cheer you on though and tell you that this time tomorrow it will be over and you'll be on your way to getting Insurance approval.  :)  You are right too, all you can do is be positive.  I kept telling myself...what is the sense in worrying over it as it was out of my control at that point, and there was probably no reason to worry and I would when I needed too.  After 10 days though, I was sweating it.  LOL  My Dr.'s office was on it though and it came through.

Good luck tomorrow and let me know how it went!!!
