Scared, Nervous, Anxious

Yes, you can do it and everything is very normal.  The first week after the surgery was the most emotional for me as it all sunk in.  I didn't go into this lightly or unprepared (waited 2 years) but it still was weird to be home, like whoa I'm banded and it all just kind of hit me.  I feel SO WONDERFUL now though and am so happy that I got banded and YOU WILL BE TOO.  It's gonna be hard, but you know that.  Just take deep breaths and picture yourself a year from now.  Picture yourself in control, much thinner and healthier at the Thanksgiving table next year.  That was what I did because when I pictured myself without the band THAT was what brought tears to my eyes.  So, keep your chin up...you will do this.  Please keep us posted!!!

Well thank you very much for you positive responses.  I do feel better...I got another flavor container of protein stuff and hope I can make the drinks different so I can enjoy them.
Your words of encouragement were very helpful.  I thank each and every one of you.
Liquids here I come ......

Not sure what kind of protein drink you bought, but if it is a juice/water type, you can mix in Crystal Lite with it to add/change the flavor.  If it is more of a shake type drink, you can mix in SF syrups etc.

You'll have a lot of creations before too long.

I bought the Strawberry and Vanilla flavored protein powder...I didn't think about mixing it with Crystal Light.  I thought the tastes she gave me of the "nectar" powders were horrible. However  perhaps they wouldn't have tasted so horrible mixed in another flavor.  Don't they make a non flavored powder to mix with the sugar free beverages such as Crystal LIght?
I am going to go shopping today and get my provisions and prepare for tomorrow...
I have to keep thinking of the future and what I am going to gain while I am losing weight.  I know this next month will be a tough one...holidays, parties, social gatherings...but quoting from the movie Waterboy....YOU CAN DO IT !!!!

I use Nectar Brand protein - it is flavored Nectar, but I don't like it so I add Crystal Lite Orange and it helps a TON.  They also have other flavors...

Unjury makes an "unflavored" protein that you could come up with a bunch of ideas for mixing...

Do a search here on OH...there are other threads about protein recipes...You'll do great!

Tooty mentioned Unjury Unflavored and I have used that.  It's good in things like Crystal Light.  They also make a chicken soup flavored one which I like for right after surgery.  It was hard for me to drink at all, so it was nice to get the broth and protein together.  I still use the Unjury for my morning shake, I do one in the morning each day.  I love the Chocolate and the Strawberry Sorbet.  The chocolate I mix with milk and the Strawberry Sorbet is mixed with water and is very good.  It's all about sampling and finding what tastes best for you.

Thanks Boo....
But where do you buy or find Unjury brand powders?
Being new to this, I know they sell stuff at the Barix Clinic but where do you find acceptable
powders elsewhere.  AND Chicken soup....Wow...nobody told me about that either.
Well I know I have alot to learn.  Health food stores? GNC's? Is that where you go?

I am pretty sure, but not 100%, that you can only get it online from their store.  They are their own entity.  It's www.unjury.com  The people there are super nice and very helpful.  Email them if you have any questions, they will help you out.  I am on a plan to have 2 tubs sent to me on the 15th of each month, for now.  You get 17 shakes from one tub, so it's like a $1.00 per shake which I don't think is bad, but is not as cheap as Walmart, Target etc.  They also have sample packets if you want to buy a few and try it before buying a tub.

Don't worry, you'll get the hang and find out what you like and need.  Then you'll be on here recommending to other newbies.  :D

Thank you so much!!! I just ordered some sample packets to try....Yay.....
I was going to go out shopping but thought that this way I can try before I buy a big container.
Thanks again.
