Chose the relize band
Hi eveyone, I have been a member for a little while now. I usually go to the PA message board and the lapband board. I met with the surgeon yesterday and decided to go the the relize band, if insurance will approve my surgery. I thought I would introduce myself here as well since I made the choice to get the relize band. I hope to make good friends and give as well as get great support here.

Welcome, Sharon! I have been banded for a week and a half and I love it already! Wow, what a tool-- I can't wait until I actually have restriction and it really starts doing it's magic! I can only imagine... :)

Reached 1st goal weight 158 on 6/8/10, My Starting weight 235
Hit final goal of 145 10/25/10
Current weight 143

I had to do the same thing and while it seems like it's gonna take so long, it really flew by. I dieted and lost 33 pounds pre-op which helped tremendously in preparing for the surgery and putting the lifestyle changes into effect before I got the band.
I went to my first Orientation in February, my first consult in March and then all my diet and nutrition classes were at the Weight Management Center and then, did the tests my surgeon wanted for me, and got REALIZE BANDED on 9/16/09. As of today I am down 25 pounds post op. Oh, I am from PA too. Is there a Pennsylvania board for Bandsters? I remember going to the PA board but it seemed like mostly RNY, which was cool and all but since I am still new a lot of it didn't seem to fit for me.

It is so nice to meet you. I don't think there is a band board for PA. I too go to the PA board but, I feel the same as you. It is nice to talk to other bandsters. You are doing great. I hope I can be of some support to you. I was sorry to miss the wls support group last night. I just didn't feel up to going out. I have to attend at least one before surgery so I will do my best to make Decembers meeting.
