Is it normal to be scared and excited at the same time. I have been wanting this for 18 months now and got so scared I backed off now in the last six weeks I broke it off with my 3 best friends: root beer, Ben & Jerry! I miss them much but not enough to start befriending them again. Any advice?

I was never scared.  Only excited.  You will do fine.  Don't give into the things we must give up,
It will get easier as time goes by.  Hang in there and keep thinking about the end picture.
Good Luck

What you are feeling is perfectly normal. Other feeling will occur to: apprehension; regret; confusion; sorrow; happiness; etc. That's why I call this journey a Roller-coaster. Even after the operation you'll have these feelings, and a host of others. However what you will remember is in the end you will have JOY and CONTENTMENT over your decision.

Just know we are here ready to hold your hand during every feeling !!

Good Luck on your Journey !!

You are normal.  It's a huge lifestyle change and the closer you get the closer the realization comes that you are doing this.  It hit me like a week after surgery.  I was a little sad, but I think the liquids were wearing me down.  LOL  I started mushies and soft and I have been so happy and just loving my band.  You are gonna do great.  When I got nervous I just focused on what I'd be like a year from now with the band and where I'd be without it.  That made me so ready and excited every time.  :D

Good Luck!!  Keep us posted.

I was banded a week and a half ago and I was terrified. I was even afraid to be excited because I didn't want to be disappointed. I talked to someone who had it done a year ago and he was just so excited and pleased about his success that it gave me the push I needed. I am still scared, though... now I am worrying about my first fill! Have you had the surgery yet?
