Soft Foods Question

So, I am on puree's and am so happy to be starting my soft foods on Saturday.  I was trying to think of some meals to prepare this weekend and for next week and didn't see rice on my sample food list.  There is whole wheat pasta, baked potato etc...but no rice.  It's just a sample so I was wondering how some others did with rice.   Thanks a bunch!  :)

Rice wasn't on my list of foods I could have either, so I've just not eaten them.

Many banded people can't tolerate rice. It can be much too sticky.  I didn't try rice until I was several months post surgery.  I did not have a problem with it, but I don't intend to eat it often.  It is a very dense carbohydrate and not a good choice for weight loss.

Yeah, I guess I'm gonna lay off it.  I was gonna make some pigs in a blanket in the crockpot and put some brown rice in with the ground beef.  I thought it would be a good way to keep the ground beef moist and soft.  So, I guess I won't be doing that.  I am just so excited to start eating something that isn't mush, but I am nervous too since I know it will be weird.  Oh well, I'll think of something new.

Thanks for the help guys!!!  :D
